Leads as Follow-Ups of Business Card Scanning Interactions in SAP Business ByDesign

With the 2205 release of SAP Business ByDesign, sales & marketing persons can now can now create Leads as a follow-up of business card scanning interactions in the SAP Business ByDesign Mobile app (iOS | Android).

Summary

Once you’ve scanned your business card & extracted the information using the Document Information Extraction from SAP AI Business Services, you can create a lead from it by clicking the Follow-up button and selecting the option, Lead.

The interaction gets converted to a lead and the extracted information such as the name and address is reflected for the lead. The business card scanned also appears as an attachment to your lead.

Please note that the Lead option is available only when the account associated with the business card is not known and is not already existing in the system.

It is also possible to scan QR code if exists on business card. If the business card is also including a QR code then information extracted from QR code gets priority for saving for Leads details.
