Debriefing: SAP Community Call “Can you save the planet by cutting IaaS costs? Yes, you can.”

Session Recap

The session covered the following aspects:

Robin Dunst set the stage by introducing SAPs sustainability strategy and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG). Then he proceeded to give a deep dive into how and why SAP Landscape Management Cloud was created as a product following customer collaborations to help make their move to the cloud a success.  He went on to show how SAP Landscape Management Cloud as a leading solution of the SAP Cloud for Sustainable Enterprises now helps customers to make progress with their sustainability goals while saving money and being in firm control of their SAP operations on IaaS.

To back up the theory and showcase the usability, I then hosted a live system demo featuring:

  • A context setting overview of the system discovery progress.
  • The SAP system centric landscape overview of an IaaS account.
  • An end-to-end process of creating, analyzing and assigning patterns for managed SAP systems and the calculation of planned energy and cost savings.
  • An overview of saved historical data for analysis via the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integration.

All questions in chat were answered during the session. To stay up to date and know what’s to come check out our roadmap and  product page.
