I am Naveen Suresh, Quality program accountable for SAP Enterprise Product Development (EPD).

In this blogpost I would like to share the team’s experiences during the journey towards being awarded the 3rd place of the SAP Product Excellence Award 2 years after the go-live of the product.

SAP product excellence award honors the top 3 teams that have developed and delivered high-quality and easy-to-consume products that contribute to customers' success.

SAP EPD is a public cloud solution designed to drive the digital transformation of product development processes. Idea-to-market steps include collecting ideas, prioritizing the needs, and defining the requirements based on the voice of customer and market insights. This results in delivering value adding digital services to grow after-sales business and increase customer satisfaction.

SAP Product Excellence Award 3rd Place

It has been an excellent team effort as the team started off on an ambitious journey to help its customers to connect the missing dots in the PLM digital thread. It has already gained huge popularity in the PLM market for its wide list of supported features. This was possible with some of the best software development and delivery processes that were mandated across all phases starting with requirements gathering, feedback sessions, design workshops, development, testing and making sure customers are notified of the latest features that are updated via the quarterly release updates.

To ensure the best experience for our customers, the quality of our product and excellent business coverage, the core team worked regularly with integrated and cross-functional teams.

SAP Enterprise Product Development is integrated with Ariba to provide seamless collaboration with suppliers to ensure accelerated time-to-market of the products. Qualtrics integration ensures that the voice of customers is incorporated during product design for faster adoption of the products. Integration with Transportation Management helps to ensure customers, like Keurig Dr Pepper, have improved visibility and control of their logistics processes. Other important integrations are in place with SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain, SAP Intelligent Asset Management, SAP Commerce Cloud. Built on SAP BTP, SAP Enterprise Product Development is also part of RISE packages and industry cloud offerings.

Customer co-innovation forums and channels are in place for our colleagues in the field, we collaborate with consulting colleagues to gather hands-on implementation experience to improve the design and relevancy of our product.

“Success Mantra”

The product team’s approach to collaborating and engaging customers enables value-driven UX improvements being delivered in a responsive timeframe.

SAP Enterprise Product Development teams have quickly adapted to virtual meetings and events without any productivity loss. In comparison to other competitor products in the cloud, SAP EPD offers free trials for prospective customers and partners.
