About Me

I work as SAP SD, IS Retial and Fashion/AFS Consultant, I have successfully passed four SAP certification before SAP Activate

1) mySAP Supply Chain Management - Order Fulfillment (SAP SD)

2) C_ISR_60 SAP Certified Application Associate - Retail with SAP ERP 6.0,

3) C_HANAIMP151 SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP HANA (Edition 2015)

4) SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP S/4HANA Sales 1909 in past

Also I have done some training and internal certification with my employer on Agile and Scrum. Previous experience does help as you know about SAP Project Management, have exam experience, you know how to prepare for sap certification and also you know the rules (dos and don'ts) of exam, If you are new then you need to gain some work experience.

Purpose of this Blog - to help other community member who aspire to get certified in SAP Activate Project Management. About Me will help understand what was my background and how I approached SAP Activate(C_ACTIVATE13) as a mini Certification project.

Brief About the Exam

First Step is to go through SAP Training , few things to note Exam has 80 questions , you have 180 mins and you need to score at least 65%. Also note says "SAP recommends combining education courses and hands-on experience to prepare for your certification exam as questions will test your ability to apply the knowledge you have gained in training"

Your Project management skill will start at this first step as you need to take the task of SAP Activate Certification as a Project. My goal was to get at least 52 correct answers out of 80. Keep last 30 mins for review. In 150 mins i need to answer 80 questions which is roughly 1.8 mins for each question.

Plan for SAP Activate Exam

Second step is to prepare your own project plan broken down into tasks (or i can say your own product backlog)  which you feel comfortable,  As you will have of lot of other tasks to handle in your life, it does help to put a plan and do review it as often as you can. it will help you to keep on track (may be you can use burndown chart)  and also you can book your exam date. If you spare 1-2 hrs a day , you can expect your certification project to complete in 1.5 months.

Sample Questions on SAP Training was useful , actual test will have same pattern

Quizlet Practice Question was useful

My Plan

Resources/Assets for my project

SAP Activate Methodology (ACT100) - Classroom Training or if you have SAP Learning Hub access you can go through E-Book, E-Learning and Assessment for ACT100 - Majority of questions are from ACT100

Agile Project Delivery (ACt200) -  Classroom Training or if you have SAP Learning Hub access you  can you can go through E-Book for ACT200 - few questions are from AC2100.

Learning Journey - SAP S/4HANA - Implementation Tools and Methodology (SAP Activate) has other resources/assets like open sap course, learning room and related resources/assets which make you competent as SAP Activate Project Manager.

Above two resources/assets are not enough you need to have SAP Project Management Experience, also knowledge about Agile/Scrum process . If you are know to project management specially in agile/scrum process you should learn about scrum from https://www.scrum.org/

Resource/assets which i have not used but can be useful

Pay for the Exam

Third step is to pay for your exam. You need to buy SAP Certification attempts from SAP training. Once you get Subscription you can schedule your exam from SAP  Certification Hub. When you schedule your exam make sure your timezone is correct. Wrong timezone in your setting can cause confusion about your scheduled exam time.

On the Day of the Exam

If you have opted for be sure to login at least 15 minutes before your exam. Login into SAP Training , Navigate to "Access Purchased Subscription" then "Access the Certification hub" , on your scheduled exam you will find "Start Exam". Be sure to be at quite place without any disturbance and your desk/room is clean.

Does Certificate help you in becoming SAP Activate Project Manager?

It may not be true but it does help to gain knowledge and also helps you to know how Agile/Scrum projects are handled within SAP Ecosystem.  It does gives you Jump Start in S/4 HANA projects as Project Manager or Scrum Master , like SAP Activate gives jump start to S/4 HANA projects. Also it gives confidence to all your project stakeholders and client that you have required knowledge and skills to handle large Transformation Projects. With So Many Transformation Projects in pipeline it can give boost to your career.
