MOVE NOW: Import your SAP Intelligent RPA projects into SAP Process Automation

Two months ago SAP announced the GA of SAP Process Automation with the combined power of SAP Intelligent RPA and SAP Workflow Management. Today I want to show you how easy you can move your automations from SAP Intelligent RPA to SAP Process Automation.

Prerequisites

You can migrate your SAP Intelligent RPA projects to SAP Process Automation if your project does not contain desktop studio projects or the SAP Intelligent RPA process artifact.

Export

In the first step you will export your project. Therefore you access your SAP Intelligent RPA Factory, select the Project tab and click on the project.

In the project overview you will find the export button in the upper right corner. Click on the button.

Now you have two options, you select here the SAP Process Automation option and click on Export.

The project will be saved in a folder on your system as a zip file.

Everything done to prepare the move to SAP Process Automation.

Import

You will find the import feature on the Lobby page on the right upper corner. Click on it.

You can now browse your file system to get the zip file.

Select the zip file form the export.

Click on Import to upload the zip file with your SAP Intelligent RPA project.

After a view seconds you can see the imported project ready for use with SAP Process Automation.

Conclusion

You learned how easy you can migrate your SAP Intelligent RPA projects to SAP Process Automation.

Try it out TODAY.

      Hi Peter Engel,

you helped me last time when I asked nearly the same question for the free tier version of Process Automation.

Can I activate Process Automation within the same subaccount where our productive iRPA is running?

If not, how can we change?

We have only one productive subaccount running. Using another new subaccount only for PA is no intended.

Thanks a lot and best Regards

      Mathias

      Hi Mathias,

no, you cannot activate SPA in the same sub-account where IRPA is running. In the moment you can either create new sub-account or you have to export all your productive IRPA projects, delete the IRPA subscription, deploy SAP Process Automation and Import the projects.

To avoid a long disruption I recommend to test this procedure with a SAP Process Automation tenant as a free tier version.

      Peter

      Hi Peter Engel,

Thank you very much for this detailed explanation.

One last question: You wrote "In the moment..." --> Is it planned to change this in the near future? Perhaps it is then possible to have both running in the same subaccount?

      Thank you and best Regards

      Mathias

      Hi Mathias,

no, sorry for this misleading wording. There are no plans to change this.

      Dear Peter Engel,

What about SAP Workflow Management? Can we integrate SAP WM with SAP Process Automation? We have both services running in different subaccount, we have created WM_CF_SPACE_PROVIDER that points to subaccount in which is SAP WM provisioned, but this error is throwing when we try to add something from store

      Dear Peter Engel

I cannot see the import button inside my Process Automation lobby. How could I solve this?

      Regards
