Welcome to our blog series about SAP Subscription Billing’s new features!

This week we are happy to share two features that were recently released: New functionalities within the Subscription app and the possibility to identify and delete customers without business. Let’s have a look together in detail:

New functionalities within the Subscription app

The Subscriptions app has been enhanced to enable you to do the following tasks:

  • Create a new subscription from scratch, without needing a provisioning request first.

  • Change the product of any subscription item, for example, to do a product upgrade.

  • Add or remove add-on products from a subscription by creating and deleting subitems.

Previously, all these procedures were only possible with the Subscriptions API.

To get started, we recommend that you do our guided tours in the app: Create a subscription and Edit subscription items. The guided tours walk you through all procedures step by step.

To display the guided tours for an app, go to the app, open the in-app help (press F1 or select the ? symbol at the top right of the screen), and switch to the guided tours view as shown in the video below for the "Create a subscription" tour:

Identify and delete customers without business

You can now enable that customers without subscriptions and bills are determined for deletion in the SAP Data Retention Manager service. To learn more about the required configuration and how the process works, see Delete Customer Data → Customers without Business in the Setup and Administration Guide.

That’s all on our latest features. Thank you for reading today’s blog post! ☁️
