Moving to RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition? Here are few steps to get started with the help of SAP Activate Methodology

Did you know there is an SAP Activate Methodology for the implementation of RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition? The roadmap was released last year in February, following the RISE with SAP launch. Refer to this blog if you have missed the announcement.

A RISE with SAP package includes the following five core elements:

  1. Cloud ERP
  2. Embedded services and tools
  3. Business Process Intelligence starter pack
  4. SAP Business Technology Platform (CPEA credits)
  5. SAP Business Network starter pack

This blog will focus on the Business Process Intelligence (BPI) and the SAP Business Network starter pack available in RISE with SAP and how to find the relevant content in the SAP Activate Methodology for RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition.

Do I still need SAP Activate if I have a RISE with SAP contract? Customers are highly advised to use SAP Activate Methodology. The methodology provides a set of tasks, procedures steps, and very useful accelerators to help the project team get started with the implementation project. Once customers have signed their contracts and are ready to start the implementation project, SAP Activate Methodology provides a set of initial tasks that they can start to review to speed up the adoption of the content but also provides value to what is to be expected in the project.

Before we move further, let’s refresh our memory on what is RISE with SAP. Watch Jan Gilg, President of SAP S/4HANA introduce the RISE with SAP offering.

What’s next?

Now that you have your RISE with SAP offering, do you want to understand how to access and consume some of the services and tools available within RISE? How can I start using the Business Process Intelligence (BPI) tools? or how do I get started with the SAP Business Network starter pack?

This blog will help you understand where to find the RISE with SAP component in SAP Activate Methodology for RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition.

Here is how to get started. Customers and partners can get started by visiting the SAP Active Roadmap Viewer and by accessing the SAP Activate Methodology for RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition, see Figure 1. The content is free and is regularly updated to reflect the latest changes, improvements as well as the customer’s feedback. Read the latest release notes available via the SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition Release blog.

What is Business Process Intelligence and how can I get started? Business process intelligence (BPI) solutions from SAP provide end-to-end capabilities for strategic process transformation and the reinvention of customer experiences.

SAP Process Insights is a new solution providing SAP customers with continuous monitoring, assessment, and improvement of their business processes. The solution readily connects to your SAP ERP application or SAP S/4HANA solution and immediately begins highlighting process weaknesses and improvement opportunities. In the SAP Activate Methodology for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition, you will find a task Review and Request SAP Process Insights in the Discover phase, see Figure 2 with instructions on how to request access and perform the initial admin setup and run SAP Process Insights.

SAP Signavio solutions

Additionally, within the BPI starter pack provided with the RISE with SAP offering, customers can get access to SAP Signavio solutions, such SAP Signavio Process Manager and Collaboration Hub. You can find the tasks and accelerators to get you started with SAP Signavio solution in SAP Activate. Use the relevant filter SAP Signavio . See Figure 3.

Among the tasks available, you will find, for example, a task related to Self-Enablement to help the project team get familiar with the Business Process Intelligence tools available. You can also import the SAP Best Practices content from the SAP Best Practices Explorer in SAP Signavio Process Manager. Review task Import SAP Best Practices Content to SAP Signavio.

SAP Business Network starter pack

How do I request my SAP Business Network Starter pack available in the RISE with SAP package? In SAP Activate, we created a new tag SAP Business Network, to help you find all the relevant tasks to help you deploy the SAP Business Network. You can find guidance by reading each related task and accessing the relevant accelerators provided.

Thanks for the blog posts related to SAP ACTIVATE Adnette !

To get started it may be useful to add the download of the project plan as a starting point for the customer specific one.

In addition, downloading the set of accelerators classified by project phase I believe is a required step. I was looking for a download roadmap content but without success. They are very useful and downloading one by one is a bit boring, am I missing a standard way to download of of them in a zip file?

Hi Adnette Kamugisha : Thank you. Interesting read.

However I have a query here.

      1. Does it mean that while migrating to RISE from S4HANA on-premise version. The S4HANA on-prem will change to S4HANA cloud edition ?
      2. How will it impact Fiori apps which are currently on-prem version. Will it be required to re-implement for cloud versions and has to be changed accordingly ?
      3. If customers are on HUB landsape on-prem and migrating to RISE. Meaning it will be now migrated to single system in RISE ?

Appreciate if you can clear my above concerns 🙂 Thanks

      Regards,

      Tejas
