Application development is evolving and low-code/no-code is a key enabler of accelerated development and resource democratization. Giving everyone a change to contribute to the realization of new ideas and innovation. SAP AppGyver is one of the latest members of the SAP family and joined in summer 2021. This solution is going to change the way how application development is done with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, pre-built components, and formula functions to build sophisticated, enterprise-ready applications.

For styling your user-interface and to comply to corporate design guidelines developers need to have access to all the essential style properties supported by runtime. SAP AppGyver incorporates many features to standardize and reuse theme patterns in order to avoid modifying individual style properties by hand for every UI-Element. For instance, you can reuse Style Classes for every component to have a consistent font, layout and size. If you change this particular style class, all other UI-elements using that style class are updated at runtime.

SAP AppGyver also includes a theme designer and some exemplary Universal Themes that can be used by the developer. In the latest update you can now also access the SAP Fiori Theme for complying to the SAP Fiori design system for your AppGyver apps.

Please note that this Fiori Theme does not include SAPUI5 controls and is available for both trial version and enterprise edition. Take a look at this Blog from my colleague Jan to see how you can activate SAP AppGyver in your BTP Sub-Account. Once you have created your project you can navigate to the tab Theme to configure your theme and design patterns:

In this section you can start working on colors, theme variables and fonts for your application. You can switch between themes from the bottom left corner of the theme global toolbar section:

Now you you need to switch from the universal theme to the Fiori Theme. AppGyver will ask you if you want to delete all of your customizations to the theme variables, colors and style classes. Click yes in order to continue:

Now your application will change to the Fiori theme and you can start or continue working on your project:
