EWM- Full Pallet Removal from source bin to pick point.

In some business scenarios, warehouse requires to pick the Full pallet to the pick point and then pick required qty and remain qty will be put back with the same pallet into the bin.

We will try to understand This Full pallet removal through below steps:

  1. Source Storage Type & Pick point storage type configurations
  2. LOSC configuration for this pick point.
  3. WOCR to pick full pallet.
  4. Defining Queue and assigning this Queue to the source AA to pick full pallet.
  5. Assign this queue to resource Group in easy access
  6. Testing

  1. Source storage type configuration:

IMG > SCM EWM > Extended warehouse management >Master Data > Define Storage type .

Here my Source storage type is 0010 and config as below.

1

1

Check Pick point Active for this storage type

2

2

Pick Point storage type PD01 config as below,

Storage type role = Pick Point (B).

3

3

2. LOSC configuration for this pick point.

4

4

3. WOCR configuration:

3.1) Define Filters for Warehouse Order Creation Rules

IMG > SCM EWM > Extended warehouse management >Cross process settings > warehouse Order > Define Filters for Warehouse Order Creation Rules.

5

5

3.2) Assign this Filter in WOCR -HU01

IMG > SCM EWM > Extended warehouse management >Cross process settings > warehouse Order > Define Creation Rule for Warehouse Orders

6

6

3.3) Assign this WOCR rule to the Activity areas in the sequence.

So, to my Source storage type activity area is 0010, so will assign this to WOCR in a sequence.

IMG > SCM EWM > Extended warehouse management >Cross process settings > warehouse Order > Define Filters for Warehouse Order Creation Rules

7

7

4. Define Queue to pick the Full pallet.

IMG > SCM EWM > Extended warehouse management >Cross process settings > Resource management > Define Queue.

Here my Queue is PDTRUCK shown below.

8

8

Assign this Queue to Source Activity Area -0010, with WPT combination.

9

9

5.Assign this queue to resource Group in easy access.

Easy Access > Logistics > Extended Warehouse management > master Data > Resource Management > Maintain Queue Sequence for Resource Group. -/SCWM/QSEQ

6.Testing:

I have sample Sales order, that sales order stock lie in sub-Hus within Pallet as shown below. Nested Hu-100000233641 and sub-Hus are 20000016400,401,402 and 403,

11

11

Now I am going to create the outbound delivery who’s qty is equal to one sub -Hu qty as shown below.

12

12

Now we will create Pick task so that system should pick that whole nested Hu-100000233641 to the pick point , from pick point we will pick the subHu-20000016400 which is Exactly equal to my outbound qty.

13

13

We can clearly see our WOCR, and Queue determined correctly.

And Source Hu is our nested Hu (Full pallet) as shown above.

Once we confirm the task, we can see Full pallet HU in pick point.

14

14

And second WO created to pick that individual HU from the nested HU.

After pick that subHU, we can putback the nested HU to the original bin again.

Conclusion: By above configuration steps and testing, now you got a idea of how to pick the full pallet (Nested HU) form the source Bin.

      Hi,

in the last screenshot I do not see that you pick one complete sub HU. You have one WT confirmed. Its the HU Task to transport the nested HU to Pick Point. After confirmation the waiting product WTs get activated. But those 5 WTs are product WTs. If a complete HU is picked, i would expect the system to create 1 HU WT to move this.

Can you please clarify this, I would really appreciate this.

      Nice Blog!

Came to understand the usage of Pick Points and its significance.
Another stuff that I prefer with more details like

      1. WC is used where the actual picking process is done
      2. WPT used for Returning/putting back one picking is completed from PICK WC with Ret. Process and WPT HU from PP
      3. LOSC setup can separate from full whole HU or Partial HUs to be removed during its travel from source to pick the point.

Thanks for writing the blog. It's simple and amazing.

      Regards
