DWCBW1 Sneak Preview: New SAP BW Bridge training is just around the corner

Deutsche Version

Hello SAP Data Warehousing enthusiasts!

In November 2021, the SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, BW Bridge was released and has caught a high level of attention from the first moment. This is reflected in quickly growing number of resources like blog posts, videos, tutorials etc. One missing piece however is an easy way to get a real hands-on experience. SAP Education is dedicated to close this gap and we are currently in the development phase of following new training course:

  • Save the name: SAP Data Warehouse Cloud: BW Bridge (DWCBW1)
  • Save the date: the first teach is scheduled for June 09+10, 2022 (Th/Fr),
other regular dates are planned for this year
  • Duration: 2 days (9am – 5pm CET each day)
  • Location: virtual class
  • Course language: this first teach will be in German,
note: the training material is available in English only.

**NEW: Additional trainings in English:

  1. EST-time zone (CET-6, e.g New York): June 21+22 (Tu/We)
  2. CET time zone (e.g. Walldorf): June 23+24 (Th/Fr)

The course has a strong focus on hands-on experience and provides more than 20 exercises to implement a complete end-to-end scenario. One focus is set on a greenfield approach where you leverage SAP standard extractors to connect to a classic on premise SAP source and transfer the data. The new data model in the BW Bridge is then shared with native SAP Data Warehouse Cloud where it is enhanced and finally consumed in SAP Analytics Cloud.

Another scenario introduced in this training is the migration from SAP BW 7.x or SAP BW/4HANA. A legacy BW data flow is collected and migrated into SAP BW Bridge based on the standard toolset provided by SAP.

As you see in the image below, several components are available for all the DWCBW1 exercises.

Attention: This is not a course for the faint-hearted beginner, because this training rocks!
Prior SAP BW development experience is expected.

      Hey Frank,

      Fantastic to read this announcement!

Do you have any idea when an English-speaking version will be available for our less German-fluent colleagues? 🙂

      Dear Julien,
of course we are planning to have English-speaking DWBW1 trainings as well.
It depends how much that is requested actually. So I encourage all who would really consider to book this training in English language to leave a short comment right here.

      That would really help.

      Regards, Frank

Yes, that's interesting in English. Also, when will it be an Open SAP course for DWC?
