If you create your own migration object as a copy of the standard using the SAP S4 Migration cockpit, you can notice that some non key fields are set as mandatory while for your scenario it should be optional.
If the approach to upload the data is from the file, then the mandatory fields are also visible in the Field list overview of XML file:
If the field would be empty during load, the generic error message no. DMC_MD_INTERPRETER045 is displayed: Tab Alternative Units of Measure, field Numerator for conversion to base unit, line 10 is empty; enter value for the mandatory field (as an example).
To change this attribute and to avoid the error,
3. After the change save and regenerate the object.

- Select the Source structure and at double click select Change View. The column with the options ( visible/hidden, optional/mandatory ) are now displayed:
