The UI5 team reaches out to You

SAPUI5 / OpenUI5 is SAP’s HTML5 framework for creating cross-platform enterprise-ready web applications. UI5 provides a consistent experience, independent of the underlying product or platform. It is used in many SAP and non-SAP solutions, on many cloud and on-premise platforms. UI5 is distributed via SAP Business Technology Platform, on-premise systems, the UI5 Content Delivery Network, npm, GitHub and other channels.YOU%20-%20call%20to%20action

The UI5 team needs to reach out to you

This complexity makes it challenging for the UI5 team to reach out to you. But why do we need to do this? Even though UI5 is well-documented, upwards-compatible, and an integral part of SAP products, from time to time the UI5 team needs to inform developers at partners, customers, or other consumers about new releases, security patches and other important news.

A current case of this is the fact that the UI5 team is Removing outdated UI5 versions from UI5 CDN: Even though we announced this about a year ago, we can see that this message did not reach all of you: Outdated UI5 versions, which are out of maintenance and pose a potential security risk, are still used. This is a good example where we think we should proactively reach out.

The UI5 team introduces two new communication channels

  1. Announcements in the top right corner of the SAPUI5 Demo Kit or OpenUI5 Demo Kit.
  2. A mailing list for UI5 announcements for which we encourage all UI5 developers to register. Check your spam filter as these mails are coming from an automated mailing list. (This is no newsletter and you will not receive promotional content. We’ll use this is for important announcements only, which are actionable for UI5 consumers.)

The UI5 team strongly encourages you to use these channels to become aware of important UI5-related announcements in time.

      Hi Oliver,

Good feature (i like it), but on the SAPUI5 demo kit this alert button isn't available. => https://ui5.sap.com/

Am I missing something? or is this feature added in the near future on the SAPUI5 demo kit?

      Kr,

      Karel
