Holiday theme for your Launchpad
Hi Experts,
The holiday season is around the corner, and it’s time to put a smile on your co-workers’ faces, so I’ve put together a little Holiday Season theme :).
You can find the download link below the image.
Download link – Please use the download zip option to download the theme.
The theme is compatible with all systems if you have the Quartz theme, both on-prem and cloud.
How to install:
For on-premise systems: Start /UI5/THEME_DESIGNER in backed SAP system. It will open the theme designer in a browser window, or user this URL with your hostname and port: https://<hostname>:<port>/sap/bc/theming/theme-designer?sap-client=<client>
Use the import theme function, wait until import is running, then don’t forget to publish your theme.
For Cloud Launchpad: Make sure you have all roles needed on BTP, and you can follow this help for imports: https://help.sap.com/viewer/09f6818d8e064537973102d6289e2aca/Cloud/en-US/5e3c4306f8d64f829f32285aa95a23db.html
Once the theme is imported, go to your Launchpad, open the Theme manager from the user menu, select the uploaded theme and Enable user selection.
Besides, I would like to invite you to a little game: create your own Holiday Season theme, post a screenshot into the comments section, and let the viewers vote on them with their likes.
Wish you all the best for the upcoming Holiday Season.
Hi David,
thank you for this nice theme. I've tried to import it into our SAP BTP Cloud Foundry Launchpad Service Theme Manager. In the Import Theme screen all looks good:
But as soon as I hit the Import button the following error occurs:
Which Cloud Environment have you tried?
Best Regards
Gregor
Hi Gregor,
Can you try with this version?

I've used the theme on Cloud Foundry Launchpad service without issues.
Kind Regards,
David
Hi David,
Thank you as well for this beautiful theme! I wanted to import it on an on-premise S/4HANA system which already has Quartz Theme but I'm receiving the following error:
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
KR, Wouter
Hi Wouter,
the download from GitHub did not work for me either. I had to ZIP the files contained in the happy_holidays folder.
Best Regards
Gregor
Okay, my bad. I was uploading the zip in the wrong structure. Now I get another error after clicking on import:
In the development console I get the following:
Which UI5 version do you have?
Same message on our OnPrem Fiori System. I used "Download as ZIP" in Github.
Hi Wouter,
Seems like some metadata info got lost during the git deployment.
Can you try with the following version?

Thanks,

That works a lot better. Publishing right now.
You might get a css error during publishing, not sure what's the reason but as I saw it can be ignored. The theme will get built anyway.
Had no issues publishing it. But our React App using SAPUI5 Web Components doesn't like the Theme. Fiori Elements apps work just fine.
This works, thanks!!
You have to try it in combination with the snowing plugin: Surprise your users with a true x-mas user experience: let it snow | SAP Blogs
Hey David,
thanks for this nice theme
I'm using it inside SAP BTP Launchpad Service.
I was able to copy from github but had to zip the inner archive again - git made another folder around the package.
Import was done by creating a new theme at first and tmport it inside the create dialog - otherwise the import was never finished but didnt throw any error either. So in case someone has the same issue, just try it my way
BR and merry x-mas.
Thanks Marc for sharing this way of installing 🙂
