Expert Guided Implementation – SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics
If you are looking to get the most out of your SAP S/4HANA deployment by utilizing the inbuilt SAP Fiori analytical apps (or “embedded analytics” as they are also known), then you have come to the right place.
SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics are one of the key pillars of the value of SAP S/4HANA.
These are embedded in the SAP Fiori user interface and will provide your end-users with insight to action features, starting their day with real-time visual indicators on potential problems to solve, and ability to drill-down to transactional level for detailed analysis.
In my previous blogs I have mentioned about the Expert Guided Implementation (EGI format for empowering and instructing customers to achieve a specified goal.
In short, this is a Virtual Classroom style session, taking place over 3-5 days, where an SAP expert explains step-by-step the configuration of a set objective using training materials.
I am pleased to inform you that we now have a new EGI session for SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics.
The agenda looks like this:

Prerequisites
It is strongly recommended (but not mandatory) to have an SAP S/4HANA system available when you start the first day of this EGI. The following options are possible:
Option 1: Deploy a temporary system in SAP Cloud Appliance Library
- Read SAP Community blog post: SAP S/4HANA Fully-Activated Appliance: Create your SAP S/4HANA system in a fraction of the usual setup time
- Visit http://cal.sap.com, register, download and deploy a SAP S/4HANA 2020/2021 Fully-Activated Appliance as per guidance
Option 2: Use your own SAP S/4HANA xx solution
- ensure the technical prerequisites listed in the administration guide are applied
Other Prerequisites for attending are listed here. Please prepare in advance:
- Configuration steps for embedded Analytics in ABAP based Applications – 2636754
- Technical Setup and Enablement for SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics – The document describes general configuration steps required to manually set up the prerequisite configuration within the system landscape to run SAP S/4HANA Analytics and how to build analytics in SAP S/4HANA.
- Embedded Analytics in SAP S/4HANA Cloud (2PJ) – This document is to describe the general configuration steps required to manually set up the prerequisite configuration within the system landscape to run and create build-in Analytics in SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
- SAP Help Documentation – https://help.sap.com/viewer/6b356c79dea443c4bbeeaf0865e04207/1709%20000/enUS/87aedf577ec43528e10000000a441470.html
Further self-paced learning on SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics
If you are more interested to get empowered on the topic at your own pace then I would recommend the following as an alternative.
Firstly, the very comprehensive OpenSAP course explaining the general concepts, strategies, and features around embedded analytics in SAP S/4HANA – https://open.sap.com/courses/s4h27
Secondly, the curriculum of 5 webcasts I arranged earlier this year: https://blogs.sap.com/2021/06/08/5-steps-2-analytics-in-sap-s-4hana/
Or try a combination of all three to really get hands on guidance and self-paced learning.
As always this is backed up by the SAP Analytics Solutions Value Map as the collaboration and enablement platform for you to continue the conversation with us and access all the above and more.

Hi @Michael Moloney
Hope you are doing well, Great blog
I have a question, does Embedded Analytics works with embedded gateway or hub
For Embedded Analytics Is there a prerequisites to move FES ( Fiori front end) to S4
Thanks & Regards
Hi Manish,
Embedded Analytics works on both the Frameworks (Standalone and Embedded deployments).
However, these days, SAP recommends customers to choose Embedded Deployment (FES within S/4)
It is possible to configure fiori quickly with rapid fiori activation (https://blogs.sap.com/2022/10/26/new-installation-of-sap-s-4hana-2022-fps0-part-4-rapid-activation-for-fiori/comment-page-1/) only on embedded systems and that is one further advantage of the approach.
It's worth being aware that SAP FES 2023 is planned to be the last SAP Fiori front-end server version which can be used as a hub or standalone server. Beginning with SAP S/4HANA release 2025 the embedded deployment of Fiori UIs is the only deployment option.
So it would not make sense to begin to adopt it as an architecture at all now (https://blogs.sap.com/2020/04/01/sap-fiori-deployment-options-and-sap-fiori-front-end-server-strategy-update-2020/)
I provided details above about signing up (free) to our Value Maps.
We have a specific Value Map for BTP topics including Fiori activation.
Please do join to get further guidance on the topic.
Best Regards,
Michael.
