Creator of Source Document is Now Displayed in the eDocument Cockpit
As part of the ongoing improvements, the Document and Reporting Compliance Framework team has added an additional column in the eDocument Cockpit (EDOC_COCKPIT) that displays the user who created the source document of an electronic document.
Note that the existing field Created By displays the user who created the electronic document, which may or may not be the same user who created the source document.
You can look for all the source documents created by a specific user, as follows:
- Choose Change in the eDocument Cockpit:
- Choose one or more Selections:
- Enter the user of the source document’s creator under Source Document Created By and choose Execute:
Note that for existing electronic documents, the Source Document Created By field isn’t filled retroactively, that is, it remains empty.
How do you enable this column?
The Source Document Created By column is available with Document Compliance Framework 29. For more details, see the SAP Note 3073871 – Document Compliance Framework (29).

Hello Elisabeth,
one requirement we have is the ability to be able to reconcile what is in the Document Cockpit back against SAP standard reports, such as a standard VAT Report or against a standard General Ledger report. This is crucial so that we can validate that what has passed through the Document cockpit and onwards to the tax authorities relative (more or less) throughout the year matches what we have in our SAP standard VAT Report (for example) that we will be submitting to the Tax Authority at the end of the year.
Can you advise if there is such a reconciliation or compliance reporting from Document back to the SAP standard reports?
Thank you.
Regards
Michael
Hi Michael,
thanks for your comment.
We are considering reconciliation (in the source system on live data) for our roadmap.
If you have a concrete case in mind (a specific country and report where this is needed) we would strongly appreciate if you could create a customer influence request.
