Important Update to SAP Analytics Cloud Release Notes Communication Process

The SAP Analytics Cloud Release Notes help enable our customers on the latest features and enhancements of SAP Analytics Cloud. Currently, the release notes are published to the Community on a bi-weekly and quarterly schedule for FastTrack Cycle and Quarterly Release Cycle customers.

Moving forward, the release notes will only be published to the Community on a quarterly basis as most SAP Analytics Cloud customers are on the Quarterly Release Cycle. Customers on the FastTrack Cycle can still view FastTrack release notes by accessing the What’s New section in the SAP Analytics Cloud In-App Help Menu. Note that the What’s New section will only show quarterly release notes if the tenant is on the Quarterly Release Cycle update schedule.

Customers are still encouraged to continue asking questions and sharing ideas throughout the blog posts on the Community. More information about upcoming product innovations can also be found on the SAP Analytics Cloud Help Portal and the SAP Analytics Cloud Road Map Explorer

Thats Bad. Of course we are on quarterly Release cycle, but the information and Screenshots were good to see whats coming and to show this to my Colleagues and Departments. Will the fast Tracks Updates be visible on any SAP Help Site?

      Hello Tobias,

You can access FastTrack Updates through the In-App help as shown above.  The public help.sap.com will only show Quarterly Release Notes.

Not if you're on a QRC tenant according to the article:

Note that the What’s New section will only show quarterly release notes if the tenant is on the Quarterly Release Cycle update schedule.

It's indeed a shame, I also always liked the "preview" articles with the quick notes and screenshots on the new features.I don't understand why you'd want to keep that away from your QRC users?

Also, if I now look in the "What's New" section in the SAC In-App Help I don't even see any screenshots anymore?

      Cheers,
      Xavier

      Hi there,

FastTrack release notes have caused confusion with end-users who wouldn't know the difference between QRC and FastTrack.  Because of this, we decided to make FastTrack release notes accessible only to FastTrack customers to avoid future miscommunication.

Customers on QRC with Private Test tenants can Preview releases weeks in advance of general availability.  See the following KB on how to enable this on Test tenants. 2652439 - How to Update Your Private Test Edition Tenant to the Preview Release in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

We will continue to have screenshots in the Release Notes of our Quarterly Releases.  We will also have screenshots in the What's New section of the Help guide beginning with wave 2022.3.

      Take care,

      Kat

Apparently we will have to write blogs about new fast-track releases ourselves, take information from "What's New", add screenshots from our tenants and notify everyone who has Q releases of what is added and how. This is the case when you want to click "dislike" under the blog ...

Hi Aleksey, thats a good idea.

We only have an private qrc Tenant which is updated 1 month in advance. Maybe someone with a fast track will post the updates 😉

      regards Tobias

with some creative url hacking it seems the release notes for each wave are available in help files:

Also not happy about this change 🙁

The format in the community is really better and the current overview wrt the last few waves that sum up to the next QRC was helpful. It allows a nice insight into what is about to come in the next QRC.

It should be possible to communicate clearer about the two update cycles to prevent misunderstandings. Why not having a hierarchical display of the QRC and the waves included? Customers would have a growing list of changes that will be part of the QRC and in the end the nice summary blog + video you established.
