Boost Productivity Through Central Access to Applications and Processes

Hope you all enjoy this year’s virtual SAP TechEd, and if you read this blog after the event, hope you had the chance to watch our session recording: DEV202 – Boost Productivity Through Central Access to Applications and Processes.

In this session we reviewed the options SAP offers for building digital experiences on SAP Business Technology Platform  to cover the broad set of use cases, each service is targeting a special use case, with the unique required set of capabilities to support the use case:

  • For an application centric central entry point (focusing on integrating apps, tasks and notifications under a single URL), SAP Launchpad is the recommended service
  • For customers who are looking to extend the application centric central entry point with key user content creation, web content, documents, feeds, knowledge base and additional types of understructure content, for building a digital workplace / next-gen portal: SAP Work Zone is the recommended service

A common question that I get is: can a customer start ‘small’ with the SAP (BTP) Launchpad service and later on transition to SAP Work Zone, the answer is YES. This is a very valid and recommended approach. It is available already today, and we are investing to make this upgrade even more smooth and simple in the future.

In the session, I had the pleasure to co-present with Shaun Syvertsen, ConvergentIS CEO. First, THANK YOU Shaun for joining the session and sharing from your experience – real life examples are the best proof for our technology.

“SAP Work Zone and our apps on the SAP Store fit together so seamlessly to enable the rapid deployment of our operational vendor portal for our team and our vendors. This is already making it easier for our external vendors to collaborate with us and unlocking cost savings for us in procurement and accounts payable. It’s so exciting to be able to lead by example with a solution we’ve worked on together that can also help so many other SAP customers!”

Shaun Syvertsen, ConvergentIS CEO

RECENT ENHANCEMENTS

Due to length of the session, we couldn’t cover the recent product enhancements. Let me shortly summarize the highlights here:

Business content
Enterprise qualities
Functional enhancements

For more details, please check the what’s new section in the documentation (SAP Work Zone and SAP Launchpad service)

WHAT’S NEXT?

It’s time to get started! I would like to encourage you to enable the services in your SAP BTP account (both SAP Work Zone and SAP Launchpad service are available with the BTP Enterprise Agreements; SAP Launchpad is also available with the free-tier offering and SAP BTP trial). Try out the Launchpad service tutorials, SAP Work Zone tutorial and read the blog posts for SAP Launchpad service and SAP Work Zone.

Lastly, I would like to invite you to join Shaun Syvertsen and myself to our upcoming webinar to learn more about ConvergentIS’ implementation of SAP Work Zone – Build a Cloud-Based Vendor Portal Fast with SAP Work Zone and ConvergentIS Apps.

      Hello

As you mentioned SAP Workzone supports High-Availability with multiple availability zones. Is there any documentation around it which you can share?

      thanks
