SAP on IBM i Webcast on December 2nd, 2021: Performance Analysis – Where to Start?

As an SAP basis consultant or system administrator, you may have experienced some of these situations:

  • An end user claims there are suddenly long wait times in a key transaction.
  • After installing support packages during the past weekend, you have the feeling that overall system performance is not as good as it was.
  • When comparing the performance reports over the last months, you find that the average response times have degraded.
  • A new application has been moved to production, but the run times are not as good as they were on the test system.

Both SAP and IBM offer a variety of tools to narrow down the general observation to a specific component and cause, so you may take the appropriate action. Depending on the situation, that may involve the creation of an index, the adjustment of system parameters, a redesign of the application or the addition of hardware resources. In our next SAP on IBM i webcast, we will give you an overview over the available tools for performance analysis and an introduction of what you can see with them. The webcast is scheduled for Thursday, December 2nd, 2021 at 4 pm CEST / 10 am EDT / 7 am PDT. As usual, there will be time at the end for questions and answers about SAP performance analysis and general topics around SAP on IBM i. A replay and the slide deck will be available for download some time after the webcast.
