Place learning in the flow of work - by leveraging integrations of SAP SuccessFactors Learning and Microsoft

It has become more important than ever to place learning in the immediate context of employees’ day-to-day activities. While formal learning processes are fairly time-consuming, learning in the flow of work makes learning content both contextual and convenient. Employees can focus on what they need to know and when they need to know irrespective of where they are as they don’t have to switch applications. Accelerated by the pandemic learning while working is getting even more the new normal, and we want to support our customers to foster greater productivity and collaboration through learning in the flow of work. With the announcement of Microsoft Viva Learning, now generally available, learners will be able to access the SAP SuccessFactors Learning course catalogue directly within Microsoft Teams..

Today, learners can view and access their content library from SAP SuccessFactors Learning in the Viva Learning app in Microsoft Teams to help support eliminate barriers to learning.

Later this year, deeper integrations will enable features like:

• View learning assignments from SAP SuccessFactors Learning in the Viva Learning My Learning view


• Teams notifications to keep on track of new assignments and upcoming due dates


• Course completion records for content consumed in Viva Learning syncs back with SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Here are instructions about how to configure SAP SuccessFactors Learning as a content source for Microsoft Viva Learning.

And this is just a first step as we are looking forward to developing even more integration scenarios between SAP SuccessFactors Learning and Microsoft. And I also want to highlight that with our 2H2021 release there will also be an integration with Microsoft Teams available through virtual learning system (VLS) so that customers can now leverage the following integration scenarios between SAP SuccessFactors Learning and Microsoft Teams:

• Administrators can assign Microsoft Teams as a Virtual Learning System (VLS) when creating or editing a class


• Users and instructors can launch the Microsoft Teams meeting from their class registration record in SAP SuccessFactors Learning or via notification links


• Automatic recording of attendance can be set in SAP SuccessFactors Learning for item completion (based on desired configuration) when users attain the attendance threshold

We have already received great feedback from our joint customers on these features. For example one of our customers, an India's leading business conglomerate, just run a pilot very successfully with a team of 15 trainers who delivered digital two-hour training workshops to 2,700 employees in six days using Microsoft Teams and SuccessFactors Learning. They have received great feedback from their instructors and learners.
