Bidirectional integration between SAP SuccessFactors & Azure Active Directory in Microsoft Azure Enterprise applications
Part 1 – Technical configuration for SAP SuccessFactors to Azure Active Directory user provisioning
Part 2 – Technical configuration for SuccessFactors Writeback

Introduction :

In this blog post I have shared my experience about how to perform the Bidirectional integration between SAP SuccessFactors & Azure Active Directory in Microsoft Azure Enterprise applications which provides the solution for Automatic email id creation and Azure AD User Provisioning between SAP SuccessFactors <-> Azure AD.

Overview on Bidirectional integration between SAP SuccessFactors & Azure Active Directory:

  • The Azure Active Directory Enterprise applications  user provisioning service integrates with the SuccessFactors Employee Central in order to manage the identity life cycle of users.
  • The Azure Active Directory Enterprise applications SuccessFactors Writeback service integrates with the SuccessFactors Employee Central in order write-back of the email address to SuccessFactors.

Example on  Automatic email id creation between SAP SuccessFactors <-> Azure Active Directory:

  • The HR team performs worker transactions (Joiners/Movers/Leavers or New Hires/Transfers/Terminations) in SuccessFactors Employee Central. Example : HR updates the user details with personID:Jpeter

  • The Azure AD Provisioning Service runs scheduled synchronizations of identities from SuccessFactors EC and create/update the email id.

  • SuccessFactors Writeback service  writes back email attribute to SuccessFactors, based on the matching attribute used.

Conclusion

We should first implement it in a non-prod system and perform tests before deploying it in Production system.

Hope this information is helpful !
