Background

SAP believes in close collaboration with the customers and the partner ecosystem to improve its product portfolio. It starts with connecting with customers, engaging with them during different product lifecycles, and getting their feedback and requirements as part of the roadmap. There are different streams set up at SAP to benefit our customers like:

  1. SAP Customer Engagement Initiative

  2. SAP Customer Influence Program

  3. Voice of Customers

Objective

SAP Continuous Influence Program was set up in April 2020. It is a framework to offer and run a Central SAP BTP Feedback and Requirements Channel for our customers and partners. To provide an open and transparent channel for feedback, SAP Integration Suite is covered as part of the Integration portfolio under this program. Customers can articulate their business challenges, vote for similar problems faced by other customers. SAP supports customers to shape products based on their inputs so that they can maximize their business value.

  2. SAP Extension Suite

  3. SAP BTP - Digital Experience

  4. SAP BTP - Digital Process Automation

  5. SAP BTP - Business Services

  6. SAP BTP – Foundation

End-to-end request to road map process for SAP Integration Suite

It is a crowd approach - open, transparent, and accessible for all SAP employees (read & comment), customers, and partners (only S-users). Following are the steps to provide a seamless experience for our customers right from creating an improvement request to a road map:

  1. Enable customers to submit improvement requests and to vote on submitted requests

  2. Requests must meet a minimum voting threshold of 20 votes for the SAP Integration Suite to be considered for review.

  3. Requests which reach the voting threshold will be reviewed during review phases (2 times a year)

  4. During review phases, status is maintained under each improvement request which informs users about the status of their requests

  5. Reviewed and accepted requests move to the product road map and finally to the product.

Updates on feature request as of August 2021

It was an encouraging sign for us that 18% of the request was delivered, 11% of the requests that you submitted are already available in our service. We have accepted 10% of the requests and they are in the feature pipeline for the next 3 to 6 months. Approximately 18% of the requests are planned for the long term and are also available on the roadmap. 30% of the feature request are for long-term consideration that means SAP will evaluate these requests after 12 months again. We only rejected 9% of the requests due to our product strategy and other associated factors that prevented us from acting on these requests. We had to further discuss 4 requests for clarification and hence, this is in status “Under Review”.

In the meantime we already delivered even more on the feature requests, so now the percentage numbers are higher for the delivered features.
