Last time I wrote a blog post regarding the integration of SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud Enterprise Edition, and in this blog post I want to share with you the latest innovation that we built for the integration of SAP Analytics Cloud Enterprise Edition with SAP S/4HANA.

As I demonstrated in one of my previous blog post, SAP S/4HANA customers can leverage their SAP Analytics Cloud stories to create seamlessly integrated SAP S/4HANA applications based on their live connection to SAP S/4HANA data.

Starting SAP S/4HANA 2021 release, in addition to creating SAP S/4HANA applications based their  SAP S/4HANA queries, customers now will be able to create SAP S/4HANA application based on:

  • Stories based on planning models.

  • Stories based on non- SAP S/4HANA connections (e.g. Excel, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba ).

In this blog post I will focus on the scenario of creating an SAP S/4HANA application based on imported MS Excel file using an SAP Analytics Cloud Entreprise tenant story.

So the first thing I want to do is to upload my MS Excel file to create an imported model in my SAP Analytics Cloud Entreprise Edition tenant.

then the next step is to create based on the model from the Excel file.

Once you the story is saved, we can see it listed in the Manage KPI and Reports application (F2814) on the SAP S/4HANA side.

Now when we navigate to the detail page and see the story detail, with the the little exception that the data source details is empty ( since no SAP S/4HANA query was used ).

On the the configuration section, you can see the story preview.

And as you know on the application section, we can create and configure our SAP S/4HANA tile, in similar fashion as i described in the previous blog post.

Now that you have learned to create an SAP S/4HANA applications based on an Excel file you can follow the same procedure to create similar type of SAP S/4HANA applications based on planning models.

Note: you can provision SAP Analytics Cloud Business content for planning or for provision SAP Analytics Cloud artefacts using the ACN, and here you can find a User Guide on how to get started.

I hope that you have found this blog post useful, and if you have more questions please use the comment section.

And I also encourage you to post your SAP S/4HANA questions under All Questions in SAP S/4HANA | SAP Community
