SAP Fiori for SAP S/4HANA – Fiori apps library now comes with multi language

Latest Update November 2021: As you may have seen you can also see the multi languages  in the List View

This morning’s welcome surprise was to learn that the SAP Fiori apps reference library. now includes language information so you know what texts your users will see when they login to SAP Fiori launchpad in their chosen language.

Tip: It’s called an additional language because the majority of the app’s details are provided in English.

Speaking as someone who works in the SAP S/4HANA Customer Care and Regional Implementation team where we regularly assist customers across Asia-Pacific Japan, Europe, and South America, this information is very much appreciated!

This is how it works.

Find your apps using the filters as normal.

Use the Additional Language (world) icon to select your additional language.

You will now see App Launcher Title(s) in your chosen additional language in the app details header.

Within the Implementation Information tab, in the Configuration section, you will see the launchpad content information such as Business Role Titles, Business Catalog Titles, Technical Catalog titles, and Business Group Titles.

IMPORTANT: Additional language information is only maintained from releases SAP S/4HANA 2020 FPS02 and SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2108. Earlier releases are in English only.

You can even search across the library using your additional language!

You can also see multi language in the List View.  Just use the Settings icon to choose the columns in your add on language.

This is a great improvement. When your users do not log in english language, it was not easy to find out the name of the app in the local language. Now it is.

In line with the continuous improvement you do, it would be helpful to select more than one language: if you have users with many different languages, having the name of the app in all languages in a shot would be helpful. Also having this info directly in the S/4HANA.

      Thank you for the improvement.

That's great! A bit disappointing that is not retroactive, but still a well expected functionality. I still hope to see the day where it will be possible to search for an App in FLP by its ID.

I was really looking forward for this feature. It will be very helpful for not English speaking projects! Also it very nice that additional language fields are available at Aggregate page - List view. Hope that texts on local languages at S/4 and library are same) Great thanks to your team from Russian consultants! Спасибо!)
