Today I would like to provide you quick explanation of the process Auto Handling unit create from reference product packaging specification level 1.

Summary:

In my warehouse, We will receive hundreds of materials daily without any information like weight, height, volume, etc., and create material master data only.

When we create a Purchase order for new material, we need a Handling Unit will be created for inbound delivery in the EWM system.

For general scenario required packaging specification of the product but we don’t have packaging specification.

We will follow the below approach to creating a handling unit based on the reference product of packaging specification.

Once you followed the steps you will learn how to create an auto handling unit with the reference product.

Below are the Configuration steps in EWM

1. Define Condition Table

In SPRO –> Extended Warehouse Management –> Master Data –> Package Specification –> Determination Packaging specification –> Define Condition Table

In this IMG activity, you define packaging specification dependencies.

Create a condition table and assign fields like Supply chain Unit, Reference Product and Order type.

Create%20Field%20catalog

Save and Activate the Condition Table

2. Define Access Sequence:

The access sequence is a search strategy for determining records for packaging instruction condition types.

Enter Access Sequence is ZIBD and Description is like Inbound Delivery HU

Select the record and click on Accesses Folder

Assign the above condition table to access sequence.

You can define the condition type Pack in Shipping and assign packaging specifications to this condition type.

Determine the procedure for creating the handling unit using packaging specification level pack material.

Select the procedure and click on Elements determination and Add below condition type and save

In Warehouse Product, Maintain reference product which is has packaging specification.

Note:9742-MAT1 does not have packaging specifications and was created as a dummy.

Packspec of reference material 9742-MAT2 and Maintained below ZIBD condition records

Test Case:

Create inbound delivery of the 9742-MAT1 product
