SAP For All Africa Announcement

A bit of context: from crisis to learning opportunities:

COVID-19 lockdown caused 114 million people to lose their jobs over 2020. Although millions have returned to work, a return to pre-COVID levels in 2021 is not expected yet...

Apart from offering free access to its cloud solutions such as Ariba and Qualtrics to help companies survive during the economical crisis, SAP made a special offer to students worldwide via the  SAP Learning Hub Enhanced Student Edition so they can learn and get certified at a lower cost.

In our turn, within the SME organization we decided with mithril27 to launch an initiative to help 1.000 people in Africa acquire the digital skills needed in the COVID-19 economy.

Our Value proposition:

Train 1.000 job seekers at ZERO cost: students, freelancers, SAP partners, customers etc. on our SAP Cloud SME Solution: SAP Business ByDesign, a SaaS public cloud ERP.

Our long term vision was to reduce unemployment in Africa and at the same time respond to an increasing market demand in terms of SAP skilled consultants: everybody will be winning at the end of the day.

Acquiring such a trendy digital skill, would enhance their resumes and increase their chances to find a job in the digital economy or to so called now "business-as-it-is" era.

We called it SAP For All because NO degree or professional experience was required, the only rule is to be African!

What we offered:

Virtual training program over 1.5 month, including e-learning from Open SAP, 2 to 3 weekly live zoom webinars and a responsive SLACK community to respond to participants questions.

The cherry on the cake: participants had access to FREE testing environments without any cost 24/7 in order to practice what they learnt and do the related case studies !

The program covered 5 modules:

  1. Finance

  2. Customer Relationship Management

  3. Projects

  4. Supply Chain management

  5. Built-in Analytics

Short Term Results:

The initial plan was to enroll 500 people in H1 then an additional 500 in H2 in case of 1st batch success.

However we already reached 955 registrations in the H1 bacth!!!

So far 86 participants got certified on SAP Business ByDesign at Open SAP Platform, some of them found a job thanks to the skills acquired in our training program but the most important aspect of this was the happiness we spread around:

And guess what? We launched the program and got 309 participants. With this we will have trained 1.264 people from Africa in 2021 on SAP SME solutions and for Free !!!
