Have you heard of SAP Influence and/or the SAP Customer Engagement Initiative, and were wondering about which platforms to leverage for what purpose? Here’s a short blog post that covers the 3 main starting points:  Customer Influence website, SAP Community, and Innovation Management tool that will help you to get started and build your Influencing journey.

Customer Influence website - Test the waters and learn more

The Customer Influence website provides insights to customers and partners on all of SAP’s six Customer Influence programs. It offers details such as videos, summaries and solution briefs, how to join, how to get involved, etc. across the diverse set of SAP Customer Influence programs. It is the starting point from where customers and partners can initiate their influencing journey and from where they access the Innovation Management Tool (see below).

SAP Community - Engage with experts and get your (swimming) badges

SAP Community is a platform with curated content and blog posts that lets you connect with experts and gain knowledge on SAP related topics and skills. It is targeted for both internal and external audiences. The SAP Customer Engagement Initiative (CEI) team and SAP developers use it for the publication of project results, for promotions, announcements, or for sharing information (as I am doing it now to highlight the distinct features of the different platforms).

To tune to CEI related blog posts, search for ‘SAP Influencing’ and ‘Customer Influence’ tags. This is how to get started on SAP Community overall: https://community.sap.com/resources/getting-started.

SAP Innovation Management (INM) Tool - Plunge (or dip) into the SAP Influence ocean

This tool allows customers and partners to register and/or vote for improvement requests (S-user needed). In the case of CEI, you can view the details of registered projects like the project description, goals, planned activities, estimated effort, user profiles, etc., and check out the results of closed projects.

SAP manages customer and partner participation via this tool. It is where SAP’s Influencing projects are regularly published for registration. Current CEI projects open for registration (3 times per year) can be viewed through this link. The next registration starts on October 18, 2021.

These are the main SAP Influencing platforms that you can leverage – depending on your time, interest, and needs and according to your requirements to influence SAP products. Hop on the next wave and let the Influencing begin!
