You may be aware that SAP recently announced that SAP Ariba will partner with Amazon Business to enable employees to tap into hundreds of millions of items on Amazon Business directly from within SAP Ariba solutions and assist with compliance with corporate purchasing policies. With this partnership and technology integration, Amazon Business becomes a source of supply for Spot Buy, a capability within SAP Ariba solutions for users to purchase items from trusted suppliers. Integrating Amazon Business into the guided buying capability within the SAP Ariba solution experience helps simplify the purchase of general business goods while providing users with hundreds of millions of new items.

Following on from the recent announcement, we can see that integration with SAP Ariba is become very important for customers and users. Therefore, we have released a new workstream in the SAP Enterprise Support Advisory Council program for SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway. In the workstream, firstly we want to help customers understand about the SAP Ariba solution including appropriate integration options and afterwards show how customers can move to future-proof their Ariba Integrations by using the SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway.

SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway is an integration-as-a-service (IaaS) solution enabled by the SAP Integration Suite. This cloud integration solution redefines how buyers, suppliers, partners, and devices integrate with SAP Ariba solutions and back-end ERP systems. SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway provides a simple and efficient way to integrate through one gateway to Ariba Network and SAP Ariba cloud applications. In the workstream we will give an understanding of the CIG tenant, including Ariba configurations, CIG settings and add-ons.

Legacy integration solutions (CI) will be retired as of December 31, 2023. As of Q1 2019, there are no innovation (features) released for these solutions. While migration to SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway is not one size fits all but dependent on the complexity of your current systems and business requirements, in the workstream you can learn about the reasons and benefits of migration, and guidance in relation to the technical implementation.

So if you wish to learn more about the SAP Ariba solution and the use of the SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway, please see our mission in the SAP Discovery Center and reach out to us at esac@sap.com.

Thanks and Regards,

Robert Kelly - SAP Integrations Solutions Project Lead (SAP Enterprise Support Advisory Council)
