Integration Excellence

Dear SAP Integration community,

it is not easy to achieve Integration Excellence (see our blog post “What is Integration Excellence“).

It is not only about building “good” interfaces, but also to master them after the project is implemented. Outsourcing might help to do fire fighting, but (usually) does not bring any improvements. Better to avoid fire, as good as we can 🙂

You can not guarantee perfection, but you can do your best by managing and improving interfaces continuously in a systematic way.

Major aspects towards Integration Excellence are:

  1. Monitor your interfaces proactively with a smart alerting
    • Find errors in channels, messages, queues and distribute them
    • Detect anomalies in message processing (too few/too many)
    • Across all SAP Middleware and Business Systems
  2. Build an inventory of your interfaces from
    • SAP Process Orchestration
    • SAP Integration Suite
    • SAP Business Systems (ABAP Backends)
  3. Create an automated Documentation
    • PDF your Integration Content
    • Excel your Message Mappings
  4. Run Checks on your Integration Content and Messaging Traffic
    • Detect quality weaknesses
    • Find missing version deployments
    • Report delays of messaging
    • Identify slow messaging
