Manage Cost Rates – Plan

You can use this app to maintain the fixed or variable part of the plan cost in cost centers for an activity type, so that specify the cost center plan cost for the different activity types for the valuation of activities. The cost rates are used in activity allocations to production orders, as well as in material costing.

 

You can use this app Manage Cost Rates – Plan to:

• Maintain Plan rate in a cost center for an activity type used in manufacturing environment


• Plan cost rate can be maintained with fixed or variable part


• Plan cost rates maintain ledger independently. Same rate will be applicable to all parallel ledgers


• User can upload or download plan rates


• SAP recommend you transfer planned cost rates from SAP Analytics Cloud without specifying a ledger


• You can also copy and delete plan rate


• You can see graphical representation of plan cost between different time frames


• The cost rates in this app use only planned exchange rates

Manage Actual Rates - Plan

Manage Cost Rates – Actual

You can use this app to maintain the fixed or variable part of the actual cost in cost centers for an activity type, so that specify the cost center actual cost for the different activity types for the valuation of activities. User first determine the actual rate manually, then maintain them with this app.

These cost rates are used in actual costing and it is only relevant if you have activated scope item 33Q (Actual Costing). If you use standard costing, then this app is not suitable for standard costing. If user need to maintain rate for standard costing, then needs to be consider Manage Cost Rates – Plan for the same.

 

You can use this app Manage Cost Rates – Actual to:

• Maintain Actual rate in a cost center for an activity type used in manufacturing environment


• Actual cost rate can be maintained with fixed or variable part


• Users maintain actual cost rates per ledger


• You can see graphical representation of Actual cost between different time frames


• Upload or download actual cost rates


• Ledger specific cost rates has priority over non-Ledger specific cost rates

Manage Cost Rates - Actual app displays the calculated actual cost rates. If necessary, you can change the actual cost rates calculated from App ‘Actual Cost Rate Calculation - Cost Center’ in this app. You can enter the actual cost rates manually, which are then valid for one period.

So, Manage Cost Rates – Plan app is used to maintain plan rate of cost center with activity type combination which is used for material costing. Plan rate maintained through app is Ledger independent.

Manage Cost Rates – Actual app is used to maintain actual rate of cost center per ledger. This App is not suitable for Standard costing. This app can also be used to correct actual rate manually calculated from Actual Cost Rate Calculation - Cost Center app. This app is only available if user has activated scope item 33Q (Actual Costing).
