Hi everyone,
When you implement legal changes for SAP ERP, you usually implement SAP Notes. You typically get the required documentation from documents attached to those SAP Notes. For other functions and other SAP products, you find the documentation on SAP Help Portal (SAP ERP). Many of you told us that this isn't an ideal setup. We listened, worked on some solution proposals, and validated those solution proposals. We’re now at the implementation phase.
To improve and harmonize the customer experience for functional documentation, we’re embarking on a journey of transition. In the future, you’ll be able to access documentation related to legal changes on SAP Help Portal, right when the SAP Note is released. So, you’ll have
one stable URL,
one place to go for the documentation, and
one consistent customer experience.
The final goal is a little way off. To get there, we need to do a few things:
- Adjust the versions that you see on SAP Help Portal.
During the week of August 16, 2021, you’ll see some changes to the product page and SAP Library documentation for SAP ERP*. Instead of having all enhancement package (EHP) and support package (SP) versions in the version selector, we’re moving the SP versions to a new home. That will leave a clear, concise list of latest versions: one for each EHP.
So, what about the SP versions? Don’t worry about them being out of reach or a whole bunch of 404 errors heading your way. The SP versions will be linked from the product page and all existing links that you’ve bookmarked will still work.
- Tweak our information design and oil the cogs under the hood so that we can publish documentation on SAP Help Portal as soon as an SAP Note for legal changes is released.
Note that the process is currently in pilot. More information will come in a near future once the pilot phase is completed.
