Peer to peer learning at the SAP Fiori elements and SAP Fiori tools roundtable

In the past year, we have had lots of customer interest about SAP Fiori elements and SAP Fiori tools. While we have been providing lots of information to the community (see below for some of the available self-paced learning), there is no substitute for a live, interactive format. For that reason, we have created the SAP Fiori elements and SAP Fiori tools roundtable. This is a monthly call where developers from customers and partners can share tips and tricks with each other, ask the product team questions about how to use the software, or make suggestions about product improvements.

Who should attend?

  • Developers
  • Enterprise architects
  • Technical consultants
  • Anyone interested in learning how to use SAP Fiori elements and SAP Fiori tools more effectively

While the content of the call will vary each month, the general format follows this structure. In some cases, we may spend longer on the first demo, especially if a customer or partner is sharing their experience with the group. Occasionally we will have “office hours”, with no set agenda and all the time allocated to answer your questions.

Topic Time

Introductions and announcements

·         New versions of products, new tutorials, new videos

5 minutes

Demo 1 (SAP, customer, or partner)

·         Demo of functionality

·         Technical discussion, Q&A from the community

20 minutes (or longer
·         Open discussion and questions from the community 20 minutes or longer

Demo 2 (SAP preview of new functionality, if time permits)

·         Demo

·         Technical discussion, Q&A from the community

Please note that this is a technical call. The product owners, architects, and developers from SAP will cover development topics such as how to:

  • Use the various floorplans in SAP Fiori elements
  • Accelerate development with SAP Fiori tools
  • Use annotations properly
  • Decide whether to use back-end or local annotations (or both)
  • Tune performance of SAP Fiori elements apps
  • Troubleshoot SAP Fiori elements apps
  • Extend SAP Fiori elements apps using SAPUI5
  • Take advantage of the innovations in floorplans for OData V4
  • Use the Flexible Programming Model to extend applications
