SAPPHIRE 2021 such a great success. It is truly amazing that we managed together to create such an outstanding event that connects professionals from different continents, time zones and industries despite the struggles that we all have had this year in the context of the ongoing pandemic. Especially in these tough times it is important to emphasize our combined achievements and everything that unites us.
As the President of SAP S/4HANA Jan Gilg pointed out in his keynote one of the best examples for successful global collaboration is the development and distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine. In less than a year, the world managed to develop and start distributing different vaccines to defend our communities from one of the biggest health threats the world has seen in the past decades.
To achieve this, supply chains need to be resilient, flexible and intelligent which are enabled by state-of-the art technologies and systems that are the base for successful processes at a global scale. It is our purpose at SAP to facilitate and improve these processes to make people’s lives better.
