As many of us have the question in mind that IE 11 is going out of support and coming towards its End of Life, so many might want to know what does have SAP planned with respect to Enterprise Portal and its support with other browser's.

 

Latest Timelines with respect to IE 11 :

According to the Official Blog from Microsoft, the timelines for Internet Explorer 11 desktop application is as below :















May 19, 2021 Internet Explorer 11 desktop application retirement was announced
August 17, 2021 Microsoft 365 and other apps end support for Internet Explorer 11
June 15, 2022 Internet Explorer desktop application is retired

It details and provides information about frequently asked questions (FAQ) with respect to support of IE 11 going forward for Enterprise Portal.

 

What happens to older version of Enterprise Portal (Versions below 7.5) :

SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal versions up to and including 7.40 have finished their mainstream maintenance periods. Currently only 7.50 is supported.

KBA # 2434460 - SAP NetWeaver 7.0x maintenance ended on 2017
KBA # 3012921 - End of Support for 7.40 java stack or lower for Enterprise Portal

 

End of Quirks Mode Support for Internet Explorer :

Starting from NetWeaver 7.52 and/or SAP Kernel 753 and/or SAP_UI 7.52 used in lower NetWeaver AS ABAP versions, Quirks Mode (IE 5.5 rendering mode) of Internet Explorer is no longer supported by SAP for all SAP UI technologies (the SAP release date is planned for the end of Q3/2017) and cannot be executed anymore.

If you use Enterprise Portal 7.50, change your framework page to Ajax Framework Page standards mode (AFP Standards) or Fiori Framework Page.
