SAP Launchpad and the New Free Tier Model for SAP BTP
The free tier model for SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) was launched on July 1. In this first phase the free tier model for SAP BTP automatically provides free services to all existing Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) and Cloud Platform Enterprise Agreement (CPEA) customers with a direct path to productive use. You can keep all your project work without having to begin a new project in the productive environment.
It is available globally (except mainland China) and the free services can be accessed through a customer’s SAP BTP Cockpit. All other new and existing customers can simply sign up for PAYG through the SAP Store to get started. Among the services that you can explore is also SAP Launchpad service as of July 1.
On the SAP Discovery Center you get an overview on the free tier services which are available:

“What is New Section” for Product Enhancements and New Features
You want to know in advance which enhancements are planned for SAP Launchpad service? SAP Launchpad service on SAP Business Technology Platform is offering a what’s new preview which started in June 2021:
In this preview section we announce the upcoming planned enhancements ahead of time – allowing customers to be aware of the planned new capabilities before these enhancements arrive to the customer’s environment. In the what’s new preview we plan to publish new capabilities one week in advance. With this new process customers will gain great visibility into the capabilities planned to be delivered in the next release. You find more information in this blog post created by Aviad Rivlin.
New Enhancements for SAP Launchpad Service
Business Suite Content Integration: You can integrate business content from different sources to the central launchpad. The so-called content federation feature is available for SAP S/4HANA (on premise) and SAP Enterprise Portal. SAP Business Suite was now added. For more information, see Supported Platforms/Products – SAP Help Portal.
Publish notifications from SAP BTP Cloud Foundry applications: Apps that are deployed to the Cloud Foundry environment can be configured to publish notifications. A notification channel is created between the app and the notification service using credentials generated in the subaccount of the SAP Launchpad service.
Support for Web Assistant: Administrators can activate Web Assistant to provide end users with on-screen help for the launchpad shell and for federated SAPUI5 SAP S/4HANA apps.

thank you for the great article! There is some useful information and links :-).
But one link (SAP Mobile Start on SAP Store) is not functional respectively I can’t go through, because it is the link to the demostore scenario 17562 and I am not authorized (You are not Authorized to view this Scenario). Is the link correct , please? If yes, how can I receive required authorization?
Thank you in advance
I added the link by mistake, sorry. The demo store seems not to be available to external people. I also removed the link from the blog post.
I will let you know if something can be done about it, but I do not expect.
Best regards and sorry again
thank you for the reaction. We can see many scenarios there in the demostore (as a partner :-)), but not this exact one. It doesn't matter. I believe that we can test Mobile Start app in a few weeks...
Have a nice summer,
