  • standard scope (the green lines in the scope overview)
  • all scope options (the orange lines in the scope overview)

For more details, refer to the scope overview list as well as other overview documents for the enterprise management layer available in SAP Signavio Process Navigator.

Note:

The scope options included in the enterprise management layer Cloud Appliance attract additional software licenses if you want to run the solution beyond the 30-day trial.

Getting Started

To start an instance of the enterprise management layer for SAP S/4HANA 2022 CAL solution you first need to connect your cloud provider account (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform) with your CAL account.

You can then create an instance. When the deployment is finished, you click in the CAL dashboard on Connect and choose the Windows Remote Desktop. Use the Administrator user and your master password which you have chosen when creating the instance. On the desktop itself you will find a Welcome-Page giving you the most important information and a direct link to the Fiori Launchpad. Furthermore, you find a shortcut to the SAP GUI on the desktop where a connection to the S/4HANA system is already maintained.

To start exploring the system, it is recommended to use the SAP S/4HANA Best Practice test scripts together with the documentation of the enterprise management layer available in SAP Signavio Process Navigator. In the Getting Started Guide linked in the CAL solution you will find also additional information.

Note:

Please check the Getting Started Guide linked in the CAL solution for additional detailed information.

      Hi Petra ,

      Thanks for the share.

My customer is into the SemiConductor industry, i would like to avail  S4 HANA 2020 on-premise best practice recommendation from SAP for the Semiconductor industry vertical.

      Hi Jinoy Joshy,

SAP Best Practices provide a generic template, as does the enterprise management layer. The business processes might cover requirements for Semiconductor industry, but are not industry-specific as such.

      Best regards,

      Petra

      Hi Petra ,

Thanks for your response ,  I can figure out best practices for chemical trials but not specific to semiconductors for S4 HANA 2020.  Please find below screen shot .

      Hi,

I was very interested in the "Model Company" concept back in 2019. Now it seems it has been replaced by templates as available in the CAL, albeit with less clarity than what was promised under the previous custom edition Model Company solution.
How does it work for a client holding an industry specific licence and trying to secure a CAL template for their specific industry? The industry solution I refer to was promised as being available in 2020 roadmap, but I fail to see ANY industry solutions in the current list of templates, never mind a promised one from 2020.
Plus the "Enterprise Management Layer" also looks like only a public cloud available option.

Can you perhaps help me understand if the previous model company custom edition (or equivalent option) is available as an option to order for an on-premise deployment to use as a demo/PoC guidance system during discovery phase workshops in the transformation to S/4 project?

      Regards
      Hannes

      Dear Hannes,

I can only reply to your questions regarding the enterprise management layer, but will try to find a contact for you to answer your other questions around the SAP Model Company program. Which industry solution are you referring to in particular?

The enterprise management layer is not available for public cloud, but for private cloud and on premise deployment only. For an implementation project, we do not recommend to use the CAL image (more adapted for a short trial period), but rather the EML service where we build a customer-specific system. Best regards,

      Hi Petra,

      Thanks for your prompt response.
I was referring to Smart Cities (as suggested in Transformation Navigator) and for Public Sector and Agri as per Model Company solutions suggested in 2019.

I will ask the respective customers to order theirs from SAP.

      Regards,
      Hannes
