Launching in Q2, the New Model was a fundamental rethinking of the planning workflow to simplify the process and improve performance. This new architecture builds upon the best of the account model and key figure models, but with major improvements to data ingestion, calculation capabilities, and currency conversion.

Our team of experts has been hard at work creating resources to help you get started with the new model. Over the past few months, several webinars have been hosted from our team of experts – from an introduction to the new model, to more complex currency conversion automations.

If you didn’t get a chance to catch these live, here’s all the events on demand to get caught up:

  1. Introducing the New Model in SAP Analytics Cloud with Scott Godfrey, Derek Johnson
In this session we will introduce planned changes coming to the modeling experience within SAP Analytics Cloud with our Q2/2021 QRC release.   The New Model represents a significant rethink in how models are structured, and enables greater flexibility and power in overall solution design. This new experience blends the concepts of the Account model traditionally used in SAC Planning, with the Key-Figure model used in several other SAP applications and analytic solutions, and augments these core modeling changes with an array of additional capabilities.

  2. Data Acquisition for Planning with the New Model with David Stocker
With the release of the new model in Q2 2021, we want to give you the latest data ingestion chain tips, tricks and things to watch out for. One of the main changes: smart wrangler is no longer only used for datasets, but load jobs too. This is just one of the many changes and enhancements with the new model – join us and learn what you need to start importing your data like a pro.

  3. Advanced Currency Conversion using the New Model with Pravin Datar
One of the newest additions for our Planning users is advanced currency conversion. With the new model, data can be entered in a transactional currency and set up to automatically convert – among many other improvements. This session will walk through a blank model and you’ll learn how the currency conversion works in the new model, how to set up currency conversion to enable users to enter plan data in transactional currency, and how to set up currency conversion to automatically convert data entered in transactional currency into group currency & reporting currency.

This, of course, is not an exhaustive list of new features and enhancements available now with the New Model architecture. Keep the SAP Analytics Cloud Community page bookmarked so you’re up to date with the latest events and must-know information with our team of product experts. This is your go-to space to connect with others on getting the most out of your analytics solution.
