Administration

New or changed features are available for administrators:

Database Analysis User

You can now connect with your database analysis user to SAP HANA Cockpit to perform advanced analysis and monitoring.

For more information, see Connecting with SAP HANA Cockpit.

Sharing Permissions

Before, space admins and modelers could share objects with other spaces by default. Now, administrators can either remove or add the sharing permissions to the data builder privilege. They can also create a custom role to allow only certain roles to be able to share space objects.

For more information, see the data builder privilege on the Privilege Page.

Data Integration

New or changed features are available for data integration:

Advanced Properties for Oracle Connections

The Oracle connection type provides additional, advanced properties which you can use when you've enabled the connection for building views and accessing data with remote tables. The properties provide default values that you can override according to your customer scenario’s needs. For example you can decide to use the connection information from the Oracle tnsnames.ora file to connect to the Oracle database.

For more information, see Oracle.

Unlock a View Persistency Task

In the Data Integration Monitor, you can’t run parallel execution of tasks. However, it can happen that for some reasons a task has failed and the status was not updated and thus, you can't restart the task. In the View Persistency Monitor, you can now set the task to failed status in the logs view.

For more information, see Adding and Monitoring Persisted Views.

Enhanced Data Flow Monitor

In the Data Flow Monitor, you can now find metrics that include record count information for sources and target used in a dataflow.

For more information, see Monitoring Data Flows.

Data Modeling

New or changed features are available for the data layer:

Modify Data Flow Sources

You can now add, modify, or delete columns in tables and views that are used as sources in data flows. When a user opens the data flow, they will be notified that sources have changed. If the changes generate a warning or error in the data flow, the user will receive a notification.

For more information, see Modifying Data Objects That Have Dependent Objects.

Creating a Geo-Enrichment in a Dimension View

You can now create a geo-coordinates column in the Graphical View Editor as part of a Dimension view. This column is calculated based on latitude and longitude values in your dataset, and it’s usable in geo maps in SAP Analytics Cloud.

For more information, see Creating a Geo-Coordinates Column.

Space Management

New or changed features are available for space management:

Monitoring

You can now keep track of the hidden replica tables of SAP HANA Fabric Virtual Tables (FVT) in the monitoring page.

For more information, see Space Monitoring.

Data Integration

New or changed features are available for data integration:

Schedule a Data Integration Task

You can now schedule your data integration tasks with much more granularity, such as :
Set up a start/end date and time when the schedule is executed, independently from the beginning of the range of occurrence;
Decouple the recurrence interval from the actual start data/time when each occurrence is executed;
Define the start time/date depending on the selected frequency;
Add a weekly recurrence allowing to include and exclude certain days of week.

For more information, see Schedule a Data Integration Task.

General

New Shell and Transport Application

SAP Data Warehouse Cloud now shares a shell with SAP Analytics Cloud and allows easy switching between the two products.

As part of the new shell design, a new application, Transport, now manages importing and exporting your content between tenants, while the Content Network application remains your source for importing business content provided by SAP and partners.
