Ignite Innovation by Connecting Your Enterprise with SAP Integration Suite

Once again in 2021, we come to you virtually with #SapphireNow. While I would have loved to talk to you in Orlando, face-to-face, the pandemic is still not behind us. I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and getting vaccinated.

I am excited to bring you the latest information on how you can kickstart your innovation journey with SAP Integration Suite.  You can register for the session and read more about it here.

We are offering the session in two convenient time zones: Monday, June 07, 1:30 PM - 1:45 PM CEST, and Monday, June 07, 7:30 PM - 7:45 PM CEST

Firstly, A Big Thank You!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the support you have shown, resulting in Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice Award and TrustRadius Top Rated Integration Platform as a Service recognition.

These awards serve to validate the belief and support that you have in us, and it encourages us to further simplify integration and offer you the best integration platform on the market. We take your feedback very seriously and want to ensure that we deliver an SAP Integration Suite that allows you to accelerate and democratize your enterprise integrations.

We would also like to thank all the Integration Blackbelts who are trusted advisors and help our customers make the most out of SAP Integration Suite. Our list of black belts has continued to grow in 2020.

Top 5 New Announcements for Sapphire 2021

Despite the pandemic, we have been busy making SAP Integration Suite one of the best integration platforms on the market. We have delivered a number of innovations and new features, based on our product roadmap and customer request. You can register for our monthly webinar and sign up for our newsletter for monthly updates on how we are progressing.

Here are my top 5 announcements from Integration Suite that can ignite your innovation journey:

1 Accelerating your RISE with SAP using SAP Integration Suite

In projects where you are transitioning to SAP S/4HANA and undergoing a digital transformation, integration costs can range between 30-40% of the overall cost. We aim to ease these costs and accelerate this process by providing simplified connectivity options and integration packs. These integrations packs available on the SAP API Business Hub will ease anywhere between 60-80% of the effort required in your integration projects, speeding up the implementation of integrated business processes. You can also import and reuse mappings directly from your Process Integration systems, further accelerating your RISE to the cloud with SAP.

Our growing list of integration packages covers a multitude of intelligent enterprise scenarios, helping you reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) and accelerate the time to market for your integration projects.

2 Integration Factory in collaboration with HCL to accelerate RISE

In another significant step towards leading with integration packs to simplify RISE, we are excited to announce a collaboration with HCL to deliver some of the highly requested integration packs by our customers. We will work with integration black belts from HCL to create a high standard of integration packs that will focus on simplifying end-to-end business process integration to simplify RISE.

3 New Adapters and Integration Packs for Workday and ServiceNow

SAP Integration Suite provides a wide range of options to connect to non-SAP systems. Apart from the technical protocol-based adapters like REST, OData, and SOAP, we offer application-specific adapters for popular third-party systems like Salesforce. We have now added two more adapters to this list: Workday and ServiceNow. In combination with the simplified user experience where you can import these adapters into Cloud Integration without dependency on the Eclipse client. We also have integration packs for Workday and ServiceNow with SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC coming end of June 2021 to further aid in your digital transformation journeys.

4 Event-Driven Integration: Confluent Kafka Adapter and Expanded Partnership with Solace

Event-based integration patterns are gaining prominence as an API-first digital landscape that can push and consume events that drive the digital transformation journeys. We support Apache Kafka, one of the leading event streaming platforms via the Kafka Adapter. The adapter enables you to fetch record batches from one or more topics and then process them as standard integration messages. You can read more about the adapter here. If you are a Confluent customer, SAP Integration Suite is your gateway into the SAP world and systems.

To further strengthen our capabilities to facilitate architecting an event-driven IT landscape, we have expanded our partnership with Solace (more details here). SAP Event Mesh will facilitate the creation of landscapes with both SAP and third-party systems that can support event streaming, management, and monitoring capabilities that enable event-driven architecture across cloud, on-premises, and IoT environments.

5 New API Business Hub Experience

We are redesigning the SAP API Business Hub to improve and simplify the process of discovering the right integration pack and APIs. The new user experience has been in beta since Jan 2021 and you can experience it at beta.api.sap.com. It features improved discoverability of integration packs, categorized based on different parameters like products, business processes, content type, partner content, etc. You can find integration processes by selecting the source and target systems. You can also try out different APIs and see them in action.  The beta experience will become the primary experience end of June 2021.

I am really excited to kick off the 2021 season of events with SapphireNow. Please tune in to my session available in two convenient time zones: Monday, June 07, 1:30 PM - 1:45 PM CEST, and Monday, June 07, 7:30 PM - 7:45 PM CEST.
