Description


Dear Readers, now you don't need to go through different places for finding the administrative activities that we do for a SAP HANA Cloud instance, because I am grouping almost all the administrative tasks here in single blog post.

So, be patient and try out all the activities for your SAP HANA Cloud trial/paid instances and feel free to comment if you want to know more about any others tasks not included here.

Prerequisites


You must have a basic understanding of SAP Business Technology Platform (earlier SCP), and also must have provisioned a SAP HANA Cloud instance.

If this is still missing, please create a trial instance from here.

Activity Lists




  • Upgrade Instance



    1. Once you have your account structure setup in SAP BTP Cockpit, navigate to Global-account → Sub-account → Space.

    2. Afterwards click on SAP HANA Cloud from the menu on the left side of the screen.

    3. For the candidate SAP HANA Cloud instance, navigate to Actions → Open in SAP HANA Cloud Central.

    4. A new tab will be opened for SAP HANA Cloud Central Cockpit and your list of instances will be displayed for a selected space. From Actions column, click on the 3 dotted icon.

    5. Select Upgrade from the menu.

    6. A new confirmation message will pop-up with warning message that your Hana instance will be restarted. Click on the Upgrade button.For screenshots and better overview, click here.




  • Resize Instance



    1. Once you have your account structure setup in SAP BTP Cockpit, navigate to Global-account → Sub-account → Space.

    2. Afterwards click on SAP HANA Cloud from the menu on the left side of the screen.

    3. For the candidate SAP HANA Cloud instance, navigate to Actions → Open in SAP HANA Cloud Central.

    4. A new tab will be opened for SAP HANA Cloud Central Cockpit and your list of instances will be displayed for a selected space. From Actions column, click on the 3 dotted icon.

    5. Select Edit from the menu.

    6. From the new wizard, kindly navigate to Size section and click on + button for Memory or Storage as per the requirement.

    7. Once changes are done, click on Save button and you are done.Note : At the moment, decreasing of resources is not available via self service, so kindly open a support message in HAN-CLS-HC category and they will take care of the task.For screenshots and better overview, click here.




  • Start & Stop Instance



    1. Once you have your account structure setup in SAP BTP Cockpit, navigate to Global-account → Sub-account → Space.

    2. Afterwards click on SAP HANA Cloud from the menu on the left side of the screen.

    3. For the candidate SAP HANA Cloud instance, navigate to Actions → Open in SAP HANA Cloud Central.

    4. A new tab will be opened for SAP HANA Cloud Central Cockpit and your list of instances will be displayed for a selected space. From Actions column, click on the 3 dotted icon.

    5. Select Start or Stop as per your need.

    6. Only for stopping of HANA instance ,it will prompt a reconfirmation and once you click the Stop button, your instance will be stopped.For screenshots and better overview, click here.




  • Delete Instance



    1. Once you have your account structure setup in SAP BTP Cockpit, navigate to Global-account → Sub-account → Space.

    2. Afterwards click on SAP HANA Cloud from the menu on the left side of the screen.

    3. For the candidate SAP HANA Cloud instance, navigate to Actions → Open in SAP HANA Cloud Central.

    4. A new tab will be opened for SAP HANA Cloud Central Cockpit and your list of instances will be displayed for a selected space. From Actions column, click on the 3 dotted icon.

    5. Select Delete option from the menu.

    6. It will ask for re-confirmation and type DELETE into the text box, then press the Delete button.For screenshots and better overview, click here.




  • Allow/Deny IP Addresses incoming connections



    1. Once you have your account structure setup in SAP BTP Cockpit, navigate to Global-account → Sub-account → Space.

    2. Afterwards click on SAP HANA Cloud from the menu on the left side of the screen.

    3. For the candidate SAP HANA Cloud instance, navigate to Actions → Open in SAP HANA Cloud Central.

    4. A new tab will be opened for SAP HANA Cloud Central Cockpit and your list of instances will be displayed for a selected space. From Actions column, click on the 3 dotted icon.

    5. Select Edit from the menu.

    6. From the new wizard, kindly navigate to Connections section and here you can either allow all incoming connections or allow only specific IP addresses/IP ranges.
      You can also opt to deny all connections.

    7. Once changes are done, click on Save button and you are done.For screenshots and better overview, click here.
