It is April already and we continue to bring you great new features with SAP Analytics Cloud QRC release for Q2 2021. In this quarter we build on a number of popular features delivered over the past few quarters and also introduce some brand new ones.

We will be coming to you very shortly with blogs and videos explain these latest and greatest features, but before that I want to give you a sneak peek at some of the highlights.

Enterprise Reporting

With Enterprise Reporting first released in Q1 2021, Planners and business analysts can now create (almost) pixel-perfect reports and distribute them across their organization.

In Q2 we add some great new features such as:

  • Repeat table header

  • Add sections to your page: repeated group of widgets over pages

  • Adjust relative positioning of widget versus another widget

Rights management for comments

At SAP, we understand that comments made on deliverables such as stories and analytic applications can contain confidential information.

Soon, you will have the option to define commenting privileges for end users when sharing a story. This includes their ability to view, add, or delete comments.

Data Analyzer – Live SAP HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud Model Support

Data Analyzer continues to be one of the most sought after features to manage and analyse your data in SAP Analytics Cloud, in this release we add the ability to connect to SAP HANA Live calculation views and the ability to create an ad-hoc analysis based on an SAP Analytics Cloud Model.

Planning: New Model

In this quarter we have done a major overhaul of model structure and creation within SAP Analytics Cloud which will enable greater flexibility and power in solution design. New models will now include a dedicated measure dimension, distinct from the existing account dimension. An array of additional capabilities to extend existing functionalities will also be introduced. While planning use-cases are likely to see the largest benefit from these enhancements, they are also applicable to local analytic models.

The initial release will include:

  • Allowing accounts and measures in the same model

  • Allowing formula based calculations on both accounts and measures

  • Persistent currency conversions calculations (using new Data Action capabilities)

  • Improvements to overall system performance for certain types of models

This is just the beginning of when it comes to rethinking how modelling works in SAP Analytics Cloud you can expect to see further enhancements in the coming quarters.

Data Actions - API for analytic applications

Our next topic will delight both Planning and Analytics Designer users as we introduce a Data Action API which can be called from within an analytic application

This will allow execution selectively based on triggered events captured by the analytic application and enable users to customize the parameters sent to each Data Action execution.

We will be diving deeper into these features and many more in the coming weeks but we hope this gives you a flavour of what is to come in Q2 2021. Until then you can check out all of the coming innovations in our Product Plan and in the SAP Roadmap Explorer.
