University of Mauritius Pioneers SAP S/4 HANA course to students in Sub-Saharan Africa

During Quarter 1 of 2021, the University of Mauritius (UoM), full member of SAP University Alliances (SAP UA), was the first in the Sub-Saharan region to pioneer the SAP S/4HANA foundation programme with their students

The academic curriculum used was the newly converted Enterprise Systems Education for Africa (ESEFA) programme (http://www.esefa.uct.ac.za/), which is based on the SAP UA global curriculum but specifically adapted for the Sub-Saharan region.

Students who participated were both from undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Most of the students were enrolled in IT related courses with very few in Accounting and Management courses.

According to the Lecturer at UoM, Ms. Zarine Cadersaib, students – as usual – found the material a bit overwhelming at first but they found the case studies, contextualized for Africa, helpful in better understanding the system. They also seemed to better master the hands-on activities with the Fiori interface as with the previous GUI.

The success level was satisfactory with a pass rate of 68.6%.
