Flexibility with the sizing of SAP BTP, Kyma runtime
Here is a quick update on the SAP BTP, Kyma runtime. As it is described it in the Kyma estimator, each Virtual Machine of the Kubernetes cluster underneath Kyma runtime is currently made of 8vCPUs and 32 GB RAM. The minimum setup was fixed to 2 of these VMs and the maximum was 10.
Now we provide you with more flexibility in the technical setup of the runtime. From now on, you can influence the minimum and maximum number of VMs assigned to the Kyma runtime from 2 to 40. This means you can either ensure that your runtime is bigger from the get-go or the maximum autoscaling is set to a higher / lower number than 10 VMs.
This is the path you need to follow so that the configuration is applied when enabling Kyma:
1. After entitling “Kyma runtime” to your subaccount, go to the “Service Marketplace” of that subaccount.
2. Find the “Kyma Environment” tile and click on it.
3. Click on “Create”.
4. On the second screen, you can now change the “Auto Scaler Min“ and “Auto Scaler Max“ to cover your needs.
Once you click on “Create” on the last screen, the provisioning will start with the defined parameters.
