Deep dive into Security with the enhanced self-service Security Optimization Service (SOS)

Data security and security of your systems has become more important than ever and plays a crucial role in today’s business life.

From technical go-live, through to ongoing operations, or as preparation for an upcoming audit, an SOS is an important tool in your armory in managing application-level security risk.

The SAP Security Optimization Service (SOS) is designed to verify and improve the security of your SAP systems by identifying potential security issues and giving recommendations on how to mitigate risks by helping you to improve the security of the analyzed systems.

The SOS self-service has long been used to analyze ABAP-based managed systems. However, the new and enhanced capabilities of the SOS now extend to analysis of JAVA- and SAP HANA database-based systems. Hence, this functionality is very relevant for SAP S/4HANA environments too!

Learn how to utilize this functionality in your SAP Solution Manager through the Expert-Guided-Implementation (EGI) training available from SAP Enterprise Support Academy.

Further security tools are also covered, such as: the new Security Card in EarlyWatch Alert (EWA) Workspace and System Recommendations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the pre-requisites to be able to seamlessly perform a deep dive analysis of the various technology stacks in your landscape – easily and conveniently.
  • Get enabled to monitor the security status of your SAP environment with the help of the self-service SOS… quickly, centrally, and whenever you need it.
  • Learn how to define your own corporate security checks and take into account legitimate context.
  • Leverage the additional tools such as the SAP EarlyWatch Alert Workspace and System Recommendations.

To guide you through these steps and details, the SAP Enterprise Support Academy offers a new 4-days Expert-Guided-Implementation (EGI). The session is a multi-day remote training, with a small group of participants and has a very practical approach.

The EGI introduces the methodology on how to quickly and centrally analyze your SAP systems, identify areas for improvement, and suggest a strategic approach to define a practical action plan – all based on the security optimization session performed as a self-service.

The EGI will proceed with 3 or more customer registrations and 2 or less registration will be cancelled.

*Before you can access the link below, a one-time registration in SAP Learning Hub, edition for SAP Enterprise Support, is required. A detailed step-by step guide to registration can be found here.
