Elevate Your HR to the Cloud

In the past year, organizations have faced unexpected challenges due to the pandemic and changing business climate. Traditional business processes and strategies have been pushed to their limits and have led to new ways of operating. Organizations have been forced to become significantly more agile in the wake of increased uncertainty. In particular, organizations have placed a renewed focus on the employee experience in order to support their workforce during the pandemic and to drive overall business results. To address this trend, HR leaders are turning to cloud-powered solutions that offer the flexibility and capabilities that today’s workforce demands.

To better understand the latest HR technology trends and the decisions SAP customers are facing, we partnered with SAPinsider, an SAP membership group. Joint research was conducted over a two-month period with over 200 responses from SAP customers around the world.

We found that customers are motivated to move to the cloud by two key factors: employee experience (64% of respondents) and the need to lower costs and increase efficiency (42% or respondents). Customers recognize the need to modernize their HR technology to support the needs of their modern workforce as well as their bottom line.

While customers are aware of the benefits of moving to the cloud, are they actually making the switch? We found that 78% of respondents that are currently using SAP HCM on-premise solutions are either using, implementing, or planning to implement at least one SAP SuccessFactors cloud solution.

So why are these results important? With a flexible start anywhere, go anywhere approach, organizations are moving to the cloud at a pace that is right for them. By starting their journey to the cloud, organizations are taking a strategic approach to invest in their employees and the success of their stakeholders.

But with current market uncertainties and competing business priorities, is now the right time to move to the cloud? Yes. In fact, three in five (60%) customers say the COVID-19 pandemic has not changed or has expedited their plans to move to the cloud. Customers recognize the resiliency and power of a cloud that provides innovation to stay competitive, relevant and prepared for the future.
