AppGyver and SAP Business Technology Platform

Introduction

Earlier this year, SAP decided to sunset the “SAP Cloud Platform” product name and renamed its cloud capabilities to “SAP Integration Suite” and “SAP Extension Suite”. These comprise the Application Development & Integration market category of SAP Business Technology Platform.

Later, SAP has acquired AppGyver- a pioneer in no-code development platforms that enable users with no coding skills to build applications for Web and mobile uses. AppGyver will be incorporated onto SAP’s Business Technology platform and with existing services to form new SAP offerings.

But why AppGyver when SAP has “SAP Rapid Application development by Mendix” (offers low code development) and “SAP Business Application Studio for application development ?

With this new acquisition, SAP has introduced a new no code tool in its “SAP Extension Suite Development Portfolio”.

So now, customer can leverage benefits of all the three-development tools based on their requirement.

Tool Complexity of Application Development Approach
SAP Business Application Studio High Pro Code
SAP Rapid Application Development by Mendix Medium Low Code
AppGyver Low No Code

Let’s talk about AppGyver :

AppGyver develops and sells a no-code app development platform that creates applications for the Web and for mobile use. The company offers a powerful visual development environment that is extraordinarily user-friendly. It allows business users with no coding experience to build efficient applications that can be easily configured and that work seamlessly across all operating systems – without writing a single line of code. Founded in 2010, AppGyver is headquartered in Helsinki and has 18 employees. www.appgyver.com

Composer pro ….

AppGyver offers Composer pro”, a drag and drop based user interface to develop React Native and React web-based apps of any complexity, with zero compromises in app quality as compared to traditional coding and it is free for life. (Obviously with some conditions ).

I personally believe it is very user friendly tool and AppGyver team has already provided a lot of    videos for the developer community help. On AppGyver website, we have two great sections available for our initial help :

  1. AppGyver Academy – It has all the relevant tutorial videos and development guide for Composer Pro”. A quick link for 25 onboarding videos
    https://docs.appgyver.com/appgyver-academy/quick-onboarding-videos
  2. AppGyver Community – Here, we can post our questions, bugs, tips, guides, and suggestions

Just do a quick sign-up and start using it. Quick link for your introduction to Composer Pro :

I hope this blog will give you a decent kickstart into AppGyver’s world.

      Hi Ashish,

Thanks for sharing this but I still have one question: Last year SAP was also positioned SAP Fiori Elements as low code development UI and SAP Ruum as low code platforms. Please can you explain how these products fit in the SAP approach?

      Hi Robert,

      Welcome 🙂

These are my personal insights and nothing has been officially announced yet. SAP will come up with the roadmap on AppGyver soon.

      Regards,

      Ashish
