We released a new MDG How-To Guide in the area of DQM Rules. The guide explains how to create and configure a rule to check products regarding classification assignments and their characteristics.

It's quite easy to configure simple rules like "for all FERT products a material group must be defined" but you might want to check also if a specific scope of products has a classification characteristic (sometimes also called dimension) assigned. This requirement looks quite similar but you will recognize that it is not that easy to define this rule because the classification data is not stored in your base table MARA and even the classification characteristics are stored in a other table than KSSK.
As a result of the How-To Guide you will be able find products with a specific class assignment but a missing characteristic as shown on the following image:
In addition, we implemented the example as well in our SAP Democloud environment and we can show you a demo in case you are not able to implement the HowTo Guide on your own system. Please contact your SAP Account Executive or Pre-Sales.
