Mass processing of BP relationships using MDC in FIORI (part – 1)
This blog is a continuation to the below 2 blogs
This blog post covers detailed steps to configure MDC for Business partner.
This blog covers the step by step demo of how to upload the business partners using the Fiori app.
Using MDC for BP relationship we will be able to change existing BP relationship fields as well as create new relationship.
Master data consolidation and mass processing (MDC) is a module which helps in data cleansing.
A standard MDC process has many process steps , and in this blog i am going to share only about
creating the process templates , defining the scope and Activation .
It requires some basic knowledge of MDG , Odata services , BGRFC and authorization objects.
The first step is to configure the process templates.
- Go to MDCIMG ->Configure process Models-> Import predefined process templates for business partners.
- Once the BC set is activated the process template will be available for use
2. Configure process model
- 147 BO for Business partner , 1405 for Business partner relationship , 194 for product and MDC_147 for consolidation of Business partner
- We have configured for 1405.
3. Configure Scope
- In this step we can define the fields which are going to be changed during a mass processing process.
- We have defined BUT051-SMTP_ADDRESS
4. Configure Activation
- The activation step can be configured with a change request or can be direct activation.in this article we have done direct activation
- There are 3 types of records -> New , Update and match groups.
5. Configure BGRFC
.6. Configure Fiori app
- Copy all the below apps from business catalog: SAP_CMD_BC_BP_MONPROCS
This article will help consultants in setting up MDC in their system and use it for master data updates.
Please feel free to share your comments and suggestions
Hello Anirban Roy,
Thank you so much for your update, keep it up.
LTMC is primarily used to create or extend BP but cant be used to perform any kind of changes to existing master data.
MDC is a workflow based process which enables customers to change master data.
In ECC and S/4 Hana we have MASS transaction but it doesn't allow excel based upload.
Mass processing Fiori app has the capability of uploading the master using excel .
You can refer to the below blog on how it is used for BP to perform change.
MDC also have some functions like standardization, parallelization and matching which helps to improve the quality of master data which are not available in LTMC.
Please let me know if this helps you.
Good explanation, Thanks a lot for your help.
Thank you venu gopal .
Great post Anirban . Will give it a try . Hopefully it holds good fo S/4 HANA 1709 MDG
I have done this in S/4 Hana 1909 FSP01.
Please try in 1709 and share if it working fine for you.
We try trying to use Mass Business Partner Relationship Change. We have configured the Activation with Change Request. When we try to test the process with three business partners, there are three different CRs created instead of one consolidated.
Is this the standard behavior or do we have some configs to be done.
Would appreciate you help.
Can you share some more details on what CR you have configured?
What is the Business activity associated with the CR ?
Can you please post a blog on Import Master Data for consolidation app as well?
Can you share FIORI App ID.
Do you have any specific issues while implementing it?
Can we have a blog on import app for consolidation as well.
thanks for the providing the steps,
I am not able to view field "BUT051-SMTP_ADDRESS" in the scope fields to define
can you please let know, do I miss something or how it was added in your case ?
Please check in the below path
MDCIMG-> configure process models -> 1405 -> tables -> table fields.
Check if SMTP_ADDRESS is hidden.
we were able to add the Field like you described.
Our problem is now, that we are not able to upload the SMTP_ADDRESS via MDG Mass Processing for a Custom Relationship Category.
For BUR001 (Contact Person), we were also not able, but found a way to do it over the ADR6-Table.
(Described in Note: https://userapps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/en/3200552)
But for a custom relationship category, we were not able at all to upload the email address to the relationship.
The relationship between two BPs in the Custom relationship can be created with MDG. But Email can´t be added.
Do you have any Idea, how we can do that?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

How can I add new BP relationship, I know you mentioned the action code "I", but the instruction in the read me sheet says the insert, copy and delete on works for the dependent data but not root object. I tried to add new record in BUT051 and I know I have to add new record in BUT050 first but there is action code column for BUT050.
