Please note that as of 2H 2023 (November 17, 2023 on Production environments) the Planner Audit feature is now the most useful Audit report that we recommend using for every new cycle. A demonstration of it can be found here in recording #2. The report below is still available but only available for Compensation administrators contrarily to the new Planner Audit which is available both for planners, HR and administrators.

Introduction

This blog post comes from a question on the Customer Community Compensation Forum (here) : "Is anyone aware of a way that we can view and/or report on compensation data that have been changed throughout a compensation process (bonus payout) in module compensation / variable pay?"

Compensation Audit Report information

There is a Compensation Audit Report which can be downloaded by Comp Admin from within a template (VP or Comp) admin center :

In order to enable it we need to do the 2 actions below.

First go to Manage Audit Configuration (from Action Search) and make sure that Personal Data Audit and General Audit are turned ON as per the screenshot below :

Secondly, go to Admin Center > Compensation > Actions for all plans > Company Settings and check the box that says : "Allow Compensation Administrator to export compensation plan activity audit via UI" :

Once we've done these 2 steps, the report will start showing as per the first screenshot above.

It usually takes between 24h and 48h for the first data to be logged into the audit report.

Please find an example of the Compensation Audit Report here (credit Skip Jones for this sample audit).
