SAP S/4HANA migration cockpit – Web Dynpro based version/LTMC
Hello SAP S/4HANA migration cockpit users,
since SAP S/4HANA 2020 and SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2008 we constantly enriched our SAP Fiori app Migrate Your Data with new functionality.
Therefore, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that we will depreciate the old version, namely the Web Dynpro-based application, launched by transaction LTMC:
Still, all projects can be accessed in display mode:

Hello Sybille,
Please let me know what are the new advantages with this APP .
Hello Venu,
in the new app we have a lot of functionality:
best regards,
Sybille Lackermeier
Thanks for updating..
Hello Sybille
Does the new app support file upload?
best regards,
Sandro Baumeler
Hello Sandro,
yes.
We combined file and staging into 1 approach. Staging tables are now created in any case, you can fill them by the predelivered xml template files.
See short video on process:
Migrate Data Using Staging Tables

Good one Sybille & thanks for sharing.
Regards.
Hello Sybille,
Is still LTMOM available to customize migration objects ?
And any customized objects developed through old LTMC has to be redeveloped using new Fiori app 'Migrate your Data' ?
Regards
Hello Swagath,
to both questions: yes - possiblt.
No change in using LTMOM - you can use it to create, adapt, enhance migration objects.
"old" migration objects can be copied to Fiori created projects.
Find details on slide 17 and 40 in this slide deck: Deep Dive LTMOM for file/staging

But only in clients open for change (scc4). That's a big difference for ltmom compared to ltmc
Hello Sybille - I have searched through the community and the various presentations for this new tile, but I cannot find references to what client settings are required to create & edit projects? What is required in SCC4?
I am trying to start the data migration tasks for a new S/4HANA 2020 project. I have three DEV clients - 010 (golden config), 020 (unit test) and 030 (sandbox). I need test data in 020 - the client is designated as Test with no config and no repository changes allowed. In client 010, I can create a project with the tile & edit in LTMOM. This client is designated as Customizing with config & repository changes stored in transports.
There seems to be no way to use a project created in 010 where repository changes are allowed in another client of the same environment. Can you provide some guidance?
Hello Wesley,
I suppose you are working with the migration approach Direct Transfer.
Please refer to the following slide deck, explaining transport concept for Direct Transfer:
Transport Concept - Direct Transfer
This is available in the "Training and Education" section of our Data Migration Landing page - category "Migrate Data Directly from SAP System".
This should clarify your questions.
best regards,
sybille
I am wanting to use the new consolidated "Migrate from Staging Tables" approach, not Direct Transfer. Does this same explanation apply to this approach?
For Staging Tables, we have at this point in time another procedure.
In LTMOM, you can up- and download projects (EDIT mode - GOTO). In your system, download the project, create a new project in the other system with same Mass Transfer ID, upload the project.
Please also find details in the system documentation (LTMOM - Information Button).

Hello Sybille,
I have one short question about LTMC memories, let's say like that.
My question is: How can I delete an error message from the API's memory?
During my test of Migration I am struggling with an error which persist again and again, even if I have deleted the respective mapping rules/modify the template and upload/simulate again.
One example:
I have used in my file, one UM like AU and from now on, in Simulation the error "Please enter conversion factors" is always there.
If I am using in same Project, xml modified w/o AU, deleted old mapping rules including AU, I get same error even if in my xml, AU does not exist anymore.
If I use same xml file w/o AU in the new Project, Migration is successfully.
Thank you in advance,
danielaT
Hello Daniela,
which release your are working on? Did you use the xml upload functionality for mapping?
regards, sybille
Dear Sybille,
Thank you for reply!
I am using 2020 version.
Did you use the xml upload functionality for mapping? - for the first test I did not used it. But for delete the mappings yes, I used the functionality.
But even if so, it seems that error is still read.
I have deleted the mappings by xml upload, I have changed the xml master data and exclude AU uom and upload again. And I get the same error.
I have created a new project for uploading same xml master data and I have migrated
successfully.
Thank you so much for your advice in advance,
With kind regards,
danielaT
Hello Daniela,
Did you already check https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/3003068?
If so, please open an SAP Incident in component CA-LT-MC.
best regards, sybille
Thank you so much Sybille!
Issue has been solved by unprotecting the mapping file.
With kind regards,
danielaT
Love to hear that problem is solved 🙂
kind regards, sybille
Dear Sybille,
If a new field is added in LTMOM - an existing field in target, and mapped via drag and drop, how can I manage to have the mapping file visible in LTMC?
The fact is, when I run LTMC, this new field is checked, but, I do not have the possibility to download/upload the file for mapping. For me it seems that is not generated or something I did it wrong.
I would much appreciate your answer!
Thank you in advance,
danielaT
