Maintenance Order: Cancellation of status ‘Do not Execute’

You may have found that cancelling the status ‘Do not Execute’ of a maintenance order is not possible. We have implemented a solution that allows you to cancel this status from both the order directly and also from list transactions.

Status Menu of Transaction IW32

Once you have set the status ‘Do not Execute’, the order is closed, and the correspondent reservation or purchase requisition will receive a deletion flag. If you now cancel this status, order is back in status ‘Create’, and it is again possible to rework it. Also, the deletion flag of the reservation or purchase requisition is cancelled, and they can be reused.

You can find this new functionality also in the list transactions IW37N and IW38 under the system menu path Order -> Completion -> Cancel Do Not Execute.

The new functionality is now available with SAP Note 3012897 or with the SAP Enhancement Package 8 for SAP ERP 6.0 as well as for SAP S/4HANA 1909 and 2020. You can enable the new functionality by implementing either the SAP note or the corresponding support packages and switching on the Enterprise Asset Management Part 16 and Simplified Management of EAM Functions 17 business functions for the classical user interface and for the SAP Web UI for Plant Maintenance respectively. To find out more, refer to the linked SAP Note.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on the new functionality, so please comment if you have any questions!

      Hello and thank you Anika.

Question: When this functionality becomes available for S4H, can it be limited via a transaction so that only specific individuals could be provided the authorization to make these changes to Work Orders?

      Thank you!

      Jerry B.

      Hello Jerry,

the note is now released and can be implemented by you. Please check the note for further details.

Regarding the authorization you can use authorization object I_BETRVORG for business transaction BABR. This business transaction is relevant for cancelling the status do not execute. If you do not allow users to run this business transaction they can not cancel this status.

      Best regards,

      Anika

      Dear Saumya,

to enable the improvement, you have to activate the Enterprise Asset Management Part 16 (LOG_EAM_CI_16) Enterprise Business Function. This is also described in the mentioned note.

With this Business Function you can use the functionality in IW37N/IW38.

      Best regards,

      Anika
